Total of about 1,500,000 but that includes personnel in air units but that was the total strength involved-9,000 artillery pieces, 2,000 armord vehicles and 1,500 aircraft from the German side; about 50,000 Slovakian (German allies) and 800,000 Russins who invaded about two weeks into the campaign to make sure Russia kept the treaty with Germany and got there "share" of the country.

5 Nazi armies attacked at 04:45 on 1st Sept 1939. These totalled about 400,000. Note I do not say men, since they were Nazi and therefore not human. Plus tanks, armoured cars, and not forgetting the overwhelming air power. They had also about 200,000 horses. The Nazi pigs always had more horses than tanks and lorries, I think they mated with them, personally.

I believe he the majority of there army was sent in. Since it was the test of the Blitz tatics.
