if i get a ps3 i am going to use it on a small 14/15 inch tv, but i might get a bigger HD tv. but does the ps3 40gb work in HD through the 3 red,yellow,white plugs? because i think the 40GB doesent have the proper HD plug thingy?

i know this is the details bit, but i wanted to say thank you to the people who have given me an answer in under 1 hour! and I'm hoping to get a ps3 for Christmas and a HD tv later on!!

The Red, white and yellow plugs are not capable of doing hd.

But the 40gb ps3 does have 1 HDMI out plug which is what you will need in order to display it in full HD. The HDMI cable is sold separately.

u have to use the red white yellow cables for your small tv and when u get your hd tv you will need to buy a hdmi cable seperatly for the best picture

i can reccomend call of duty 4 as an amazing ps3 game i to have the 40gb ps3 hoping to get a hd tv for xmas

Red, whit and yellow don't support HD. For HD you'll need 1.3a HDMI cable. The best companies are Monstercable and Sony.
