That depends whose guidelines you are using. BMI's are not worth using b/c they are not accurate at all. Using a BMI would cause all bodybuilders/athletes to be obese. If you have had a physical and have no health issues, lead a healthy lifestyle and are still overweight that isn't necessarily bad. The key is can you be physical at your weight? Can you function normally?

Take you BMI and you will find out if your healthy or overweight. Overweight says already that your not healthy.

why not? couldn't you be overweight and not have health problems. being overweight only makes you more prone to developing health issues.

It depends on what your weight is coming from. Muscle is more dense than fat so if your fat is completely replaced by muscle then you will actually end up gaining weight even though you are healthier.
