Dexcool supposedly has a longer life and has better corrosion protection. If you use non-Dexcool antifreeze then you have to change your antifreeze every 2 years or 24,000

Dexcool was developed to last longer without needing coolant flushing. It protects longer and better against corrosion. You can use either, just flush the hell out of your system to be sure there is only one type of antifreeze in there.
