Maitreya

im not trying to prove anything, im just asking a question. Christians (or some of them) believe we are born imperfect because of Adams/Eves sins. and because we are imperfect we can become ill etc

Adam's sin against God caused God to remove His sustaining presence from the Earth. Everything was perfect and harmonious before Adam sinned, because God Himself walked on the Earth with Adam and Eve. As long as God Himself was here physically, nothing could die, nothing could grow old or decay. Sin is like Kryptonite to God - He cannot be anywhere near it in His pure form. When Adam sinned, God had to leave the Earth. This caused the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics to begin - everything started to decay and die. That included the animal kingdom. It was an unfortunate side effect of Adam's sin.
When Christ came here to save us 2,000 years ago, God had to take the form of a human, kind of like putting on a "protective suit" in order to walk among sin. He then paid the price for all that sin, because only a perfect sacrifice would do, and only God is perfect. This will allow us to enter into Heaven without the stain of sin, and God will then re-create the Earth the way it was in the beginning, before Adam messed everything up.

I have read your answers with interest, so many varied views, Eve committed the original sin, but after that pople lived to be 900 years old and more. Becoming ill and dying has nothing to do with sin, if we didn't die then the world would be overpopulated. Jesus came to save us from sin, so we are not born with it, and if you follow him do not die with it either. Even the most devout followers get sick and die. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Peace be with you

According to the bible, we do not become ill or die physically because we are imperfect. Both we and the animals were created mortal. Although Adam and Eve were created mortal, they were created spiritually alive and so they were originally able to relate to God directly. They had the option to live forever, but they hesitated. Instead of choosing immortality, they chose to disobey God. Their sin led immediately to their spiritual death and they could no longer relate to God in the same way. We all inherit their spiritual death. We do not inherit their sin, but as Jesus put it, flesh can only give birth to more flesh, we cannot make ourselves spiritually alive again.

Because they sinned, Adam and Eve brought a curse not only upon themselves, but the whole world as well, includingall the plants, animals, and every race of mankind.

When we don't follow the ways and laws of G_D, G_D punishes us. At times this is by taking of animals.

A simple example is a story of G_D telling us about planting our crops. How long we should wait, when we should plant, how long we should let the land rest, etc. Really its basic farming knowledge when its broken down.

But as men do we follow it? No. And what punishment do we get? Deserts that grow, crops that are tainted, crops that have to be engineered to still grow on the same bad land, etc.

Same with animals. If we kill, eat, harm etc the animals in the wrong manner. He will take those from us as well. We are given dominion over the animals... not the keys to the slaughter house.

Isaiah 66:3
He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

You know, I just don't know. come to think of it, animals do get cancer.........oh theres a cure for cancer and aides and herpes, but, the Gov. doesn't want you to know. Is that because of our imperfectness? I'm a Christain. I pray. And Pray. All beings of this earth are doomed, lest it be your dog or your Grandmother.

What is it with women and the garden of Eden? Why do they blame Adam, for it was Eve that offered it to Adam. So it was Eve's fault!!!!!

Because animals were not made perfect they were made before adam and eve.
And if you study the cycle of animal life you will see that by living, breeding and then dying they maintain a certain balance in the cultivating of the earth.

God created all things and commanded them to multiply, therefore they, the animals had to die someday, not because they had anything to do with adam and eve but because God prescribed them to live only certain time.

Also he gave us higher souls and we're able to progress much more than animals, that's the freat difference.

Simple answer: We DON'T become ill because of Adam and Eve.

We become sick either because of viruses, bacteria, or our own poor diet and nutritional deficiencies.

Are you just trying to prove a point to Christians? Because it'll never work.

You should not think that everything that happens to you has been an act against you.

Life is hard on this hostile planet, what has God got to do with whether you become ill or die?
