Only pray the Lord's prayer, for God already knows what you need. (Matthew 6:7-13)
Pray for whatever you want: "If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." (John 14:14); "If you ask anything of the Father, he will give it to you in my name." (John 16:23)
BUT it doesn't matter anyway, because "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) and "We know that God does not listen to sinners." (John 9:31)

The Lord's prayer is merely a model of how we as Christians should pray to our Father.

1) Acknowledge the Father.
2) Praise His name.
3) Pray that His will be done.
4) Present your requests.
5) Ask for forgiveness.
6) Thank Him.

Believers are forgiven by God, & NOT under the Judgement of Romans 3:23 & John 9:31.

First and foremost, a Christian should pray with a pure heart because God says "if you pray with iniquity in your heart that prayer I don't hear." We as Christians should pray fervently because the "sincere fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." You can pray the Lord's Prayer at times because that's the prayer Jesus taught the disciples. But at the same time, God wants to hear from us out of the sincerity of our heart. True, He does know what we need because He puts us in the situation to need what we ask for. He knows what we are going to pray about before we even say it because He knows all and sees all. He knows our thoughts before we think them. What's so great about it is even if we don' t know what to say, the Holy Ghost intercedes for us. When you don't know what to pray about just start thanking Him for what He has already done for you.

God not only listens to sinners, but loves them..He knows more about them than they know about themselves..Remember the woman at the well... You pray what is in your heart. You pray like you are talking to your father. If you only pray in tears and crying..God hears and knows.

What the junk? God does not listen to sinners? Bull. I sin all the time, they may be small things but that makes it sound like we are unworthy to pray which is NEVER the case. So I pray for forgivness, I pray for strength, I pray to thank heavenly father for giving me the gospel of Jesus Christ. God knows what you need, but you also need to be ready and worthy to recieve his blessings.

Just pray from the heart and end it in the name of Jesus and watch the miracles.

I was under the impression that a prayer is just a conversation with God. I didn't realize that I had to stand on my head, jump through a hoop, run around in circles...etc....just to say hi!

you don't have to preform rituals or practice ancient dogma in order to have a relationship with your OWN father.....

EDIT: I find it interesting that you quote MEN, yet not Jesus himself.....Again, I was under the impression that Jesus gave us rules about religion, not man.

When you take verses out of the context in which they were written, you fall into error. You have done an excellent job of proving that, dear one!

Prayer is 1% talking to God and 99% listening.

So get your talking over with as soon as possible or you will be making so much noise you will miss what God is trying to tell you.

Love and blessings Don
