The 0 is a result of a sum function, so I can't manipulate that value as '0.

Excel 2003 can do this - maybe 2002 can also.

Open the Find and Replace dialog.

Click the Options>> button to expand the dialog to see all options.

On the left at the bottom there is a drop down list for "Look in:" with "Formulas" selected by default. Just choose "Values" from the list.

Then Excel should find all zeros including from the result of a formula. Works for me.

You can't do that. Excel doesn't see it as zero it sees =1-1 for example. What you can do is copy your range of cells that you want to find zero then do a paste-special in a blank area. You can now do a find/replace in this area.

put a ' in front of the "0". That tells excel that you are not using a formula.
