Whether you agree with me or not I can prove to you that this statement is true...you only have to open your eyes.

So far none of you have opened your eyes - you're too easily blinded by words that incite emotion.
I promise to reveal my proof shortly - please check back to see it.

I will post my proof at 3:00 pm EST today, December 3, 2007, unless someone can prove it in the meantime.

Since so many of you demand I prove my statement I shall do so now. Before I do please allow me to explain the purpose of this question. I wanted to demonstrate how easy it is to mislead seemingly intelligent people. The statement I made can be simplified to the following God = Bad Idea - do you agree?, if you write out the alphabet A - Z and assign each letter a number correlating to it position in the alphabet you get (G=7, O=15, D=4) this adds up to 26...Do the same for Bad Idea (2, 1, 4 9, 4, 5, 1) and you also get 26... so the proof is there God = Bad Idea...
I developed this riddle for another purpose but quickly realized that it might prove an interesting test to see how many approach Religion with an clear mind. You're assumptions and emotions got in the way and you weren't able to see the truth behind the statement. It's an interesting experiment - try it on your friends.

If you invent your own semantics for mathematics you can show anything. However that is not a proof as your tools are not a demostrable framework for logical proof.

If you could have proved it you would have done it already, and since you haven't I believe that you have no proof to back up your statement. Therefore I shall not return and not check out your supposed proof. There is a saying that makes all the since in the world to me.
The truth is in the eye of the beholder!
Trust me that statement is better than any proof you have. Why? Because I said so! Why do I say so? Because if you had had solid proof to begin with you should have posted it and not torment people.
And since you have not yet posted said proof people are not going to believe it when you do!

Ok, then prove it, with the proof bearing directly on the impact it would have on me and my life and those I care about.
I don't have to prove that God is a bad idea, because I don't believe that. I believe he's a good idea for me.
BTW, I don't follow any religion. I use the most powerful weapon I have to decide for myself what I should and should not do.....my mind.
EDIT: Most people don't read such a question in the religion section and think they need to approach it from a mathematical angle....nor did you say it was a riddle. With all the atheists on here trying to prove their point and ram it down other people's throats, it's natural to assume you were doing the same thing. Clearly, your method of making your statement was flawed and doomed to garner the response that it did. Tricky boy...lol

God is not a bad idea, but some people take the idea to an extreme and extremism is bad for anything, not just God. Take a tiger trainer for instance, you may be able to control the beast for a while, but just like Roy found out, sometimes you take things too, far. I can play russian roulette and I may survive, but if I become obsessed with the game I will die.
Just an observation, but if you believe God is a bad idea, why did you capitalize His title? That certainly shows an unconscience decision on your part. And I must say a high level of respect.

Prove it. I'm willing to bet I can prove that God is Good. God is not, however, an idea, but something real. Open your eyes to see a tangable God, but God can be as tangable as a TV or Radio advertisemnet. Businesses buy them, but they can not touch or feel they ever happened, only believe that the commercial aired.

No. I can't prove anything when it comes to God, whether God is a good or a bad idea or even whether God exists or not, it's just a better life to believe and believe that God is a good idea.

God can give people positive direction and influence under careful scrutiny. Even one case of this in all of human history proves your argument false.
