and to possibly lead and make decisions for the group?

If you think no- then you cannot think that churches should be required to let homosexuals into membership or leadership roles if the denomination opposes homosexuality.

Several people answered that churches should be required to let homosexuals join in a previous question.

This over-attentiveness to LGBT rights really zaps you out of time better spent on worrying about your own deeds and whether they're virtuous or not. NO human being is going to join a church that they know is going to treat them less than human based on illogical information, so I think you and the author of the "previous question are making things up to stir the pot.

Personally I oppose anyone who supports hate in any form.

PFLAG is Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays I do not believe the person you described would fit the criteria for joining or leading such a group. Is the meaning of your church to praise and worship the devine or to promote your own agenda. I would not seek membership into such a group, not based on sexuality or religious affiliation, due to the deity that you have made. I do not mean to be harsh but I can not sit by as you harm another and call it love.

No. PFLAG is a private group with a specific agenda. You're attempting to destroy the organization from within. There's no reason why they should not oppose it.

Agreed. I think churches should be allowed to discriminate against anyone, for any reason. I also think that they should be denounced publicly for such idiotic behavior. But that shouldn't bother them -- they should be expecting whatever criticism their little pinheads can absorb.

The current reality is that they do dicriminate. All the protestant churches where I live (the deep South) are segregated. The whites have their churches, and the blacks have theirs.

PFLAG is a private organization. They should not be required to do any such thing. I also don't think churches should be required to put homosexuals in positions of leadership...I disagree with their stance on homosexuality, but I don't believe any religion should be required to embrace something they disagree with.

There is such a thing as Freedom of Association. A Church, or Christian Group cannot be compelled to accept into membership anyone they choose to exclude because of lifestyle, behavior, or conflicting belief system.

But homosexuals that seek admittance into churches don't hate Christians, and wouldn't make decisions -- if in a leadership position -- that are based on their hatred for Christians.

Believe it or not, gay people can sincerely want to seek out the message of Christ. Homophobes can not sincerely want to promote gay rights.

I don't know why anyone would desire to be a part of a select community that despised them for such a stupid reason.

It's a shame that people let ridiculous discrimination influence their lives to such an extent.
