So my ex boyrfriend just messaged me on Myspace after not seeing or hearing from him for 6 months. Is it wrong that I am with someone else, but am a bit taken back by the whole thing? We were together for two years and he just up and moved across the country. I haven't read the message yet...

You're probably a bit flattered by the attention... and remembering the good times.
Often times we remember the good times the most and down play or forget the bad times. Ever here the phrase: "looking at the past thru rosey colored glasses" - as in the rose color makes everything look better then it realy is/was

Here's my honest advice....

Don't fanatize about past relationships no matter how good they were, it only takes energy away from what's real in your life NOW. Use this as an opportunity to re-focus on your current relationship instead of the past.
If he up and moved across country as suddenly as it sounds from your question.... it sounds like he is selfish

Don't look back on past relationships with rosey colored classes AND don't think that just because attention from an old flame seems exciting and flattering that it means there is anything there to re-kindle

Be happy with what you have NOW

No it is not wrong for you to look and read the message but what you have to realize is that he up and left you without an answer. For him to contact you after 6 months you do not need to get your hopes up and do not fall for the things that he will say. Let him know that would like to talk to him and that he needs to answer some questions on why he up and left the way that he did without explaining himself. Other than that it needs not go any farther than that and you should leave him alone.

I don't see anything wrong with reading the message since you were with him for a long time. But if you do talk to him, make sure he knows that you're with someone else now.

There is nothing wrong about it. I think most would feel the same in such a situation. Its how you handle it that determine if its wrong or not.

Whatever you do you need to ask yourself: Will my boyfriend be ok with what im doing? or do i have to keep it a secret.

This will tell you if you are doing something right or wrong. Ultimately its your current boyfriend's opinions and feelings you need to consider. Not people on yahoo answers.

This is a good place to get feedback but don't let it guide your moral compass

It's normal to be taken back. Read the message....see what it says then you will know how to feel about the whole thing.

It's not wrong that you're with someone else. You moved on as you should have. Don't let the message get to you.

Of course it's okay to be taken back by him contacting you after so long but don't ruin your good relationship for someone who just left up and left you. It wouldn't be fair to your current boyfriend and you would only end up hurt.
