I am a Christian that has never seen nor heard of such a symbol.
I am considered a fundie because I totally believe the Bible and use nothing other than the Bible for my guide. I believe it is my obligation to speak where it speaks and keep silent where it is silent because it is ALL I need to be perfect.
I was unaware this happened, but it has to be the "limited commission" taken way out of context. Jesus said in Luke 10: when sending out 72 men to teach that these 72 men would be protected from snakes and scorpions. He only said this for these 72 men, not for everyone.
Many people believe if Jesus said something, He said it to them. This is not true. You have to understand the situation where it was said. Especially with Jesus because He lived and died a Jew. No Christians existed before Acts chapter 2. Jesus taught Jews to be better Jews and never saw a Christian in His life on this earth.

Don't know any snake dancers, but I believe they think that the snake can't hurt them because of their strong belief.

It's the fact that they have faith that God will save them from the rattle snakes.. I don't know if I could grab a rattle snake and dance with it.. That's not my denomination.

I think that they are challenging God to protect them from snake bite. All I know is that they are abusing innocent animals to make their point.

The whole thing was that you had enough faith in God to prevent a rattlesnake from biting you and injecting you with venom.
Thank God my church doesn't practice that.
