Another idiot liar.... it even said shooting coyotes was illegal at that time and the dummy said he was shooting coyotes and thought a 1400 pound cow was a 20 pound coyote... stupid liar...... lets mistaken him for a donkey.... put a saddle on him then let a 400 pound guy ride him around for a while.... that will be good for him.....

The guy who shot the cow, should have all his guns taking from him. Really, how does one mistake a cow for a coyote? He even tried dragging the thing home. Huge difference between a 1000lbs plus cow and a 45lbs coyote.

I hunt coyotes quit often, here in Nevada. I see cows out as well. There's no way in hell that anyone can mistake a cow for a coyote. The guy who shot the cow, was either drunk, stupid or just made the story up....Knowing he just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

What is the world was he shooting coyotes with that it killed a 1400# COW? OK the go to yote cartridge is a 22-250. I am sorry but a 40 to 55gr light jacket varmint bullet will not kill a cow. Unless he shot it in the neck. Then I am iffy on that one.

I think this guy was out to kill the cow for what ever reason that was. He sure the hell was not hunting a coyote. 25-06 is about as low as I would go if I were going to Holstein.

If anyone really believes this dumbazz thought he was shooting a coyote, they are dumber than he is, which is pushing it some. This was a clear case of cattle rustling. The guy is supposedly out shooting coyotes and mistakes a cow for one. Then after shooting it, he looks at it and says "Darn, that ain't no coyote after all, my bad. I better haul it back with me to make sure the meat don't go to waste" I suspect if you could check out his freezer over the years you would have found a couple of more "coyotes" in there!

It's really kind of funny in a way because you know that there are people who REALLY BELIEVE this guy couldn't tell the difference between the two animals, sigh....

This is relavent to a funny experience I had this weekend. My brother and father and I were driving deer on private property. The owner owned a medium-sized siberian huskey that roamed free. When a coyote stepped in front of me, I shot and killed it (to save my deer hunt. in my state coyote hunting is open year-round, and the property owner requested shooting them). My brother radioed me asking what I shot. He replied that from his view of the house, he could not see the owner's huskey! I was floored! I started to get sweaty and worry about what I just killed and replayed in my mind what I saw. After closer examination, it was, as I was certain, a coyote--but after someone gives you a scare like that, the mind races!

that guy should never own a firearm again. How do you mistake a cow for a coyote?

What happens when he decides to shoot a blaze orange deer?
Idiot, should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

My local paper picked up and ran this story and I blasted the editor (a neighbor of mine) for running anti-hunting propaganda (he is a fellow hunter and good friend).

While we read the story and say:
"Yeah, that guy's a lying cattle poacher"
SOME people read it and say: "SEE! You can't trust those redneck crackers with guns!"

he got caught cattle poaching...period...he was caught trying to bring it home.....did he still think it was a 1400lb coyote?

it should be a felony, so he gets his guns pulled.....

people like him cause injuries in the woods, especially when he hears a deer in that thicket....or a turkey
