God created evil (Isaiah 45:7). Without evil in existant there would be no ability to choose for ourselves (right or wrong). God's program is perfect. If you don't understand why He did or allowed certain things then you'll have to accept it and continue to live by faith.

though i don't believe in any of those wonderfully written characters, i will give what i hope to be a sound explanation.
Lucifer was God's favorite angel. And he was the most beautiful. However, he became jealous of the love and attention God poured out on his fragile creation... man. When he voiced this jealousy, God... in his infinite wisdom... threw Lucifer out of the Kingdom, causing him to crash down into the earth, shattering his leg, and causing him to be crippled for all eternity. This... not the jealousy... is what made Lucifer angry. And we all know that if anger is left to build, it will eventually turn into bitterness, which ultimately can lead to evil. Now. As to why God would allow evil to exist. Have you ever held a quarter in your hand? I believe you may have at least once. What is significant about it? Well, it has a "heads" side, and a "tails" side. Much is the same with good and evil. They are opposite sides of the same coin. So one can NOT exist without the other. Just as you can not have light without darkness. Pleasure without pain. Everything has to be balanced, or the universe as we know it will be thrown into a state of utter chaos. (Though many will argue that it already is. As order can also not exist without it's counterpart, chaos).
I hope this helped shine a little light on the subject... and left a shadow of knowlege within you!!

Satan, probably the greatest of all the angels (Ezekiel 28:12-18), in pride, chose to rebel against God in order to seek to become his own god. Satan (Lucifer) did not want to worship or obey God, he wanted to be God (Isaiah 14:12-14). Revelation 12:4 is understood to be a figurative description of one-third of the angels choosing to follow Satan in his rebellion, becoming the fallen angels / demons.
At first it might seem that if God created all things then evil must have been created by God. However, there is an assumption here that needs to be cleared up. Evil is not a "thing" - like a rock or electricity. You can't have a jar of evil! Rather, evil is something that occurs, like running. Evil has no existence of its own - it is really a lack in a good thing. For example, holes are real but they only exist in something else. We call the absence of dirt a hole - but it cannot be separated from the dirt. So when God created, it is true that all that existed was good. One of the good things that God made was creatures who had the freedom to choose good. In order to have a real choice, God had to allow there to be something besides good to choose. So God allowed these free angels and humans to choose good or non-good (evil). When a bad relationship exists between two good things we call that evil, but it does not become a "thing" that required God to create it.
Perhaps a further illustration will help. If I were to ask the average person "does cold exist?" - his/her answer would likely be yes. However, this is incorrect. Cold does not exist. Cold is the absence of heat. Similarly, darkness does not exist. Darkness is the absence of light. Similarly, evil is the absence of good, or better, evil is the absence of God. God did not have to create evil, but rather only allow for the absence of good.

God has made all of His higher beings, such as humans and angels, with free will. This free will allows us to decide whether we will worship and obey God or not. Lucifer decided not too. It is not as if anyone has the 'right' to 'ask' to exist or not, it is that we do exist, and it is up to us to decide whether or not we are going to obey God, or not, exactly the same decision that Lucifer had to make. If evil did not 'wish to exist' then it would not in fact exist, but, by it's mere existence, it does want to exist, therefor, it (being evil) is in direct opposition to God's government.

First, God created us in His image, which means the ability to choose between good and evil. It seems Satan has this power as well, since He chose evil.
Theodicy is the technical term for the problem of evil. We do not know exactly how God creates and allows evil, but we do know that He has said all things work together for good for those who love Him, so we take it on faith.
No one has ever been able to explain it, nor will they. We are simple finite creatures. God allows evil to glorify Himself in the end of it all - we will all find out then the specifics.

I also believe he had the free will to choose. We all have free will to choose what we believe in no matter who your maker is. How do you know what Lucifer asked for?
What Happened To Ourselves?
The university professor challenged his students
with this question:
Did God create everything that exists? "
A student bravely replied "Yes, he did!"
"God created everything?" the professor asked.
"Yes sir," the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything,
then God created
evil since evil exists, and according to the
principal that our works
define who we are, then God is evil."
The professor was quite pleased with himself and
boasted to the
students that he had proven once more that the
Christian faith was a
myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I
ask you a question
professor?"
"Of course," replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, "Professor does
cold exist?"
The professor replied "Of course it exists. Have
you never been cold?"
The students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not
exist. According to
the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in
reality the absence of
heat. Everybody or object is susceptible to study
when it has or
transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or
matter have or
transmit energy. Absolute zero (- 460 degrees F) is
the total absence
of heat. Cold does not exist. We have created this
word to describe how
we feel if we have no heat.
The student continued. "Professor, does darkness
exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir.
Darkness does not
exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of
light. Light we
can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use
Newton's prism to break
white light into many colors and study the various
wavelengths of each
color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of
light can break
into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can
you know how dark
a certain space is? You measure the amount of light
present. Isn't
this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to
describe what happens
when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor. "Sir,
does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course
as I have already
said. We see it every day. It is in the daily
example of man's
inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime
and violence
everywhere in the world. These manifestations are
nothing else but
evil."
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist
sir, or at least it
does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the
absence of God. It is
just like darkness and cold, a word that man has
created to describe
the absence of God.
God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what
happens when man
does not have God's love present in his heart. It's
like the cold that
comes when there is no heat or the darkness that
comes when there is no
light."
The professor sat down.
The young man's name ------- Albert Einstein.

God made everything good. Satan tried to ascend into the most high and take over. God did not make evil. evil ans sin was a word conjured up after Satan rebelled. Who can know the mind of God? He says our wisdom is his foolishness.
One can always get in deeper than they understand. I've done it myself.Just read the word and take it for what it says. The way is so simple a fool can understand. One can get into philosophy and screw their minds up. Evil itself has no choice we are the ones that have to chose. I suggest you trying Horvest ministries.org for starters.God bless -Bea

first of all Lucifer had his free-will and chose to try and get the angels to worship him, etc.
Without the absence of love, there would be no evil. God allowed for the absence of evil in order for people to understand what exactly love is. Also we have our free will to choose good over evil. Also with all the chaos, hatred, evil, etc. we can truly appreciate God's love, Jesus' gift and really know how great Heaven is compared to earth.

First of all GOD created all that exist, good and evil. The devil was turned astray by GOD because of the choices he made. None of us asked to exist, but we do, and we must make the best of it and make the right choices so we can live with all evil taken out of us and happily satisfied for eternity. GOD created evil for reasons beyond our comprehension, GOD knows best, we dont. Just pray and ask for guidance only from THE ONE GOD.

Maybe God made evil possible when he created free will so that the goodness people chose would have more value?
