I did programs for my wedding. I spoke to the minister at my church who had a catalog of programs. You can pick designs and then you just print the program on the inside with your own computer. They were really cheap...$8 for 50. This was much cheaper than anything I found at the party supply stores.
I don't think that they are all that useful but it gives everyone something to look at while they are waiting for the wedding to start, so I think that was nice. But, I definitely think that you could do without.

Yes we did DIY programs. Its unbelievably easy, if you can lay out the text correctly it will look professional.
Some people are not into programs, but I always look forward to the program and I keep all of them. I like seeing whos in the wedding and the music selections and any other stuff they include.

I haven't done a wedding yet that had printed wedding programs. They were all DIY projects. They are not hard at all to do, it really depends on how elaborate you want to make them. But if you are doing special ceremonies (unity candle, etc.) within your wedding ceremony it's helpful to have programs so guests follow along.

We made our programs. I just referred to samples online and created them on Word. Super easy and since we had an interfaith wedding, it was used to explain a lot of wedding rituals to our families.

We're not doing programs, we're doing menus. We're not having a church wedding, its an outdoor ceremony at an art gallery, and we're having a cocktail reception with 12 different hors'douerves, so I want people to know what they are eating. I will probably try to do those myself.

We had them and I made them myself. They were folded in half. Here was the set up that I did:

Front cover: One of our engagement pics and a quote
Left Inside: Order of the ceremony
Right Inside: List of attendants, parents, helpers, etc
Back: A thank you to all attending and a message saying that the flowers on the altar were in memory of those who could not be with us.

I did all of this on Microsoft Word by using two columns and two sheets of paper which were then printed front to back on one. We took them to Office Max and had them all printed on card stock. It was very inexpensive and served its purpose well.

Yes, we plan to have my dad do them for us because he is doing our invitations and response cards. So we figured we would pick them up the same day we get the invitations so they will all be the same design. Congrats and Good Luck.

I'm not. They're extra expense and no one even pays attention to them. I'd rather spend the money on drinks and food.

Haven't decided yet.....but I'm definitely a do-it-yourselfer...

If you are considering it, check out doing it on Adobe, it's pretty easy.

Congrats :)
