OS is XP professional... we just got computer that has office 2007 basic, but we need to install microsoft access to work in a database on our network that was created with 2002 Access. Should we buy Access 2003 or Access 2007? 2003 is cheaper obviously, but someone said it might not work with Office 2007... how can this be?

access 2003 WILL work with office 2007.
i've used access databases from access 2000 in access 2007 and its worked fine.
the only thing to keep in mind is that some of the features won't translate over.

You should purchase Access 2007. Access 2003 has been deprecated.

Access 2003 WILL work with other Office 2007 applications, but not as well. Access 2007 performs a lot better than Access 2003.

Office applications are totally independent. I have Office 2003 (everything but Access) and Access 2000's installed.

In any event, you're better off downloading SQL Server 2005 Express and using it, as its a REAL database app.
