Isn't this what got Lucifer in trouble with God in the first place?

The more mankind believes he is free, the more he finds himself in bondage.

For it is freedom from sin that makes a man truly free indeed and that comes by way of faith in God's only begotten Son, Christ the Lord.

Men continue to make sin which is bondage socially acceptable. They have removed the punishments established by the law so that men can practice sin without fear from the laws of men. Yet, they ignore the Word of God which states sin is death and all who die in sin will be cast into the fires of hell.

So many believe it is good to live today, and choose to ignore what is in store for them if they die in their sins.

Its true:)
When the free will and choice of an individual overrules that of society then we have anarchy... lawlessness.
Its exactly the same kind of nature that Lucifer displayed. He was so full of his own self worth and importance .. his own beauty and wisdom that he failed to realize that he was a " creature" of God.
Today some even have the mentality that they are " too good or too smart " for God:)
Its been happening over and over and over again.
Sister I just pray that the Lord's bride could make herself ready so that her Bridegroom could return.
This world and the satanic worldly system is reaching its zenith. The world stage is almost set .. May we truly love the Lord with all that we are and ask Him to shine His searching light for any traces of anarchy in our own being. At His blessed return ..may we not be found wanting...but stand in love to Hail our coming Lord and Bridgroom.

Yes, freewill has gone too far: that's why there are all the signs of the last days all around us. But God pleads with everyone to seek the LORD, and be saved.
But at least one answer here denies freewill is in the Bible.

So mankind doesn't have freewill? Then how about these?

“As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?” Ezek. 33:11

“How often I wanted [Gk. Thelo, pronounced thel’-o] to gather you to Me, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings; but YOU were not willing! [Thelo]” (Mt 23:27; see also Lk. 13:34) (emphases mine).

‘The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING that any should perish, but [willing rather] that all should come to repentance.’ 2 Peter 3:9.

Incidentally, for a Calvinist to say that anyone was wrong on anything would be an oxymoron, as they say nobody has any option! And if all are pre-destined for either salvation or damnation, then why did Jesus tell His followers to evangelise? Indeed, it should be impossible, in the Calvinist view of things, for a Christian ever to sin, once (s)he has been saved: but that would mean neither Peter nor Paul were saved (see Romans 7:19; Galatians 2:11).
When will Hyper Calvinists realise that denying freewill is a calumny against God, denying His own words that He wants to save all?
If freewill were not true, then EVERY sin EVER committed was at the behest of God Himself; He would therefore be morally worse than Satan. If that's the God you believe in, then you don't worship the God of the Bible.

May God bless those who truly -- of their own free will -- seek Him.

Free Will gives us the chose good or to do evil...It gives us the opportunity to really reflect our innermost character/soul. Lucifer chose evil. Evil turned into pride and pride turned into hate for God...If you think about we have two great examples...One, Jesus was good, lived a perfect life and followed God's Will. His reward was heaven...Lucifer was evil, lived an evil existence and disobeyed God's Will...He will end up in Hell...Free will it is your choice...Merry Christmas

Yes. When you use your free will to rebel against God and to sin and to lead others to sin, yes, then you've taken it too far. I see that very prevalent in this world today.
