Federal Bureau of Investigation is one route. You could also check various state agencies. Where I'm from, we have the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

However, the business of background checking is mostly up to private firms.

When working or trying to work for the government is a security clearance of any sort is necessary a background check is made of the individual's past. In my own case the BCI was conducted by the FBI and the Defence Investigative Service. Any number of jobs in the government require security clearance so the background check is normal. And Happy holidays back at you.

This would be done by someone in HR (Human Relations) for the government or corporations. You can also look into the postion of "recruiters" or "head hunters". They find possible employees, do phone interviews and also perform the needed background checks.

in case you have been neither charged nor convicted, there will be no longer something on the police document it extremely is geared up in the process the historic past exams. In a destiny interview, you're asked if there is something further on your record. at that element, it extremely is particularly useful to tell them relating to the 'fake effect' just to coach which you're being thoroughly open approximately your historic past, and likewise in case they ask persons approximately you and somebody brings it up. besides to police exams, they often do ask acquaintances, co-workers etc. approximately you and in case you have already reported the incident, they won't freak out if a neighbor erroneously comments which you have been accused of stealing something.
