No it is not wrong. I can't believe that churches do this. We have a Happy Birthday Jesus party at our church for kids. I have never seen a Santa in our church. What people do at home is OK, but no Santa at church. I'm still debating whether to even have Santa in my home. My daughter just turned 2 and does not understand yet, but I'm still not sure if that is something I want to do.

well I have never seen a Santa Clause at my church! And its a secular Holiday at most. I think its sad to let a "Santa Clause" in church to give out candy and toys. It has nothing to do with Christmas, or Christ. But only taking away from the true meaning of Jesus

YES -- focus on Jesus! Take Santa out of Christmas and make it a RELIGIOUS holiday celebrated at home and in churches! Christmas is no longer a religious holiday -- too bad it is somehow connected to Jesus.

Freedom of choice is Godly.

Any church which would allow a LIE like Santa to grace there church can not be a church walking in truth...just a thought

I'm not really sure if Satan...I mean, Santa...is actually too prevalent in Churches during Christmas. I thought that they were focusing the J.C....it's just everywhere else in the country where the focus is on jolly Saint Nick...

Yes. Santa and the almighty dollar bill are the backbone of Christmas

Santa's not real. So he cannot be in any church.

In all seriousness though, I don't know about all other churches, but my church's Christmas celebrations are Christ centered and have nothing to do with Santa.

Focus in Jesus is correct, but we can for example prepare a Christmass play for kids (and their parents) with the fat toymaker of the north pole in the cast and having Santa tell the kids that the real story of Christmass is not about reindeers or magical elves but of god's best gift to mankind through Jesus.

Christian churches of all stripes and denominations in the U.S. should just once and for all LIGHTEN UP! With all the genocidal crap going on in places like Darfur they can't do anything else except debate an inane issue like this one? Why are so many Christian church leaders so bleeping stupid and insensitive to the world outside their own? Why do so many Christians follow these stupid leaders of theirs?

Yes. It is. Jesus has nothing to do with Christmas. Christians banning Santa? Good God, what next?
