I looked them up and they are like $80 for a dozen. I saw them at GolfSmith and they had them for $17.99 a dozen for logo overruns. They are supposed to be like the NXT so I bought some because they are $10 cheaper than the NXT tour.

Anybody tried them?

I can't say about the economics of the GranZ in Japan vs the Golfsmith overruns, I've wondered about that myself.

The GranZ is COMPLETELY different from the DT Solo. The Solo is a 2 piece ball and the GranZ is a 3 piece ball, very similar to the NXT Tour (as you stated). Just 2 weeks ago (or so) Titleist had a GranZ product page on their US (.com) site, but it has been removed. You can read more about it on Titleist's Japanese web site, if your Japanese language skills are good enough.

Being an avid Titleist fan, I tried them earlier this year. I was surprised that they seemed like a pure distance ball to me, with not much attention to feel. They were a few yards longer than the NXT Tour I normally play, and probably a full club longer than the ProV1. If they felt a little softer I'd probably stock up on them but for me, they don't out perform the NXT Tour.

I do not know the cost of Titleist balls in Japan. All I know is they are addicted to the sport. Several years ago some enterprising sole purchased hundreds of sets of used golf clubs from clubs all over the States and sold them in Japan. Visited Las Vegas a few times and on each visit played with Japanese couples who could not get enough of the sport or the Casinos.

There are two types of NXT - the NXT Extreme at around $26 and the NXT Tour at $30. For price and performance I like the NXT Extreme. It has great distance and control but is also good around the greens and has good feel. You might find that these balls are 1 club longer than what you are used to - so adjust accordingly!
