What if we just had negligible answers for addition and subtraction - particularly when it comes to money transactions? Frankly, if I had my own business and needed an accountant, I would hire the one who got "A" grades in math and accounting! If I had an engine repair shop, I would hire George from my class who got an "A" in the lab part. I would hire Anthony (who got the 2nd highest grade) and George who both had the job experience who had been repairing cars since they were 12.
If I had to hire a manager I would hire the person who got at least a "B+" average on their MBA program. And really, I want doctors and dentists who got A's and B's on their final exams - would you like a dentist who graduated with a "C" average?
Yeah, I would say marks and grades are still good indicators of showing that someone has grasped the knowledge and skills required for the task at hand. Even in English grammar - it's "DO marks hold any value in THE present day education system?"

but it unfortunate that employers prefer employees with good score or good academic records....
