I DON'T GET IT...

It doesn't "feel" like anything to have a mental illness, it just is. It's not like I woke up one morning and thought, "oh crap, I'm crazy"! :)

I cope by talking to people, doctors, and taking my medication. I pay attention to what my body tells me and try to recognize triggers that will set off anxiety and send me into a panic. So far, so good (most of the time!)

To me, it just feels "normal" b/c this is who I am - I wouldn't know what it feels like to be without these problems...

I would see a therapist and get on medication to help control the symptoms. I would take care of myself, eat right, get enough sleep, try to keep things in perspective, associate with supportive people and help other people so that I don't lose focus on what is going on.

You cope by taking your meds even when you feel better. Because you will spiral down again if you stop taking them.
