On the bag of food, there should be a weight chart.

At that point with my last pup he was getting 1 cup 3 times a day (if I remember correctly). At 6 months I switched him to being fed twice a day but a 1 and 1/2 cups each time. We went up to 2 cups twice a day at the max.

Compare that with the chart and see what it says. I remember just increasing over time but the exact amount at the age is a bit fuzzy.

He's 2 now and gets 1 and 1/2 cups twice a day. If he starts looking too porky, I'll cut it down to 1 1/4.

Feed your lab 3 times a day until he's six months, then you can go down to 2 times a day. Stay with 2 times a day for the rest of his life.

How much you feed him depends on what brand of food and what his metabilism is like. Check the bag for his age/weight, and watch to see if you think he is getting too skinny or too fat. You can check his weight by running your hand along his ribs. You should be able to feel the ribs easily, without too much fat covering. There can be some fat, but you should not have to push in to feel the ribs. Also his tummy should look tucked up from the side.

Puppies need to be fed at least 3 times a day. Once they get about 10 months old feed them twices a day. Once they dog turns about a year and a half all you need to do is feed him once a day. Good Luck!

On the average, 2-3 times per day. But make sure you follow the guidlines for HOW MUCH food to feed him. On the packaging for the dog food, it will tell you how much to feed your pet based on their weight. Follow this guide closely, do not over feed your pet.

I have an 85 lb. lab and a 45 lb. beagle mix and according to their weight they should get between 2 and 4 cups of food per day. Since they eat together most of the time, I feed them 1.5 cups in the a.m. and another 1.5 cups in the evening for a total of 3 cups of food. If they still act hungry, I get another cup of food and I give it to them as "treats." They don't realize the difference when I feed them their own kibble as "treats" and I avoid over feeding them this way too.

Assuming you are feeding him a good quality dog food and not a cheap one that filled with "inert ingredients", I would feed him twice a day . Offer him one-two cups of dry food and see if he leaves any . As he nears a year old you may want to cut it down to one meal a day.
The important thing is to watch his weight and as long as he is healthy and active then your good as gold.
Good luck

I fed my dog once in the morning, once when i got home from work and once before bed. Now I feed her at breakfast and dinner. I follow what the bag of food says, and adjust it based on if she gets a little fatter or skinnier. You'll see the difference in a smaller dog faster. And in the winter, they usually need more.

Perhaps a vet will give you the right answer. Two of our sons have dogs and both feed their animals once a day. They, do however, have water available to them all the times. The portion to be fed to a pup and the number of times it is fed is an answer for the vet.

3 times a day and feed him or her according to how much they weigh and whatever the dog food bag says to feed them. You need puppy food. Weigh your dog too, do not guess.
