This is the real world, ok?
A)We don't care what your excuse are, or are not.
We didn't issue you kids, therefore you don't need kids- if you need it, we'll give it to you.
B)If you're too dumb to study, we don't want you- anything in life thats worthwhile, takes time. This includes study

Pick up the book, "ASVAB for Dummies". If you can't find it in stores then you can buy it on Amazon. If you don't pass, then you can try again a month (?) later. However, you should know there are no shortcuts to studying. Was it the math on the practice test that was the hardest or was it the reading? Study the hardest on your weakest area.

I have seen study guides for the ASVAB. These may help, but you might be a tad off mark here.
The ASVAB is only a tool to measure what your aptitudes are. Not a "pass-or-fail" test to get into the mil(although low scores do disqualify you from certain careers, and scoring low in all categories can indicate to a recruiter that he might want to steer you toward a different career path outside the mil). Still, go in with the understanding that this test is NOT designed to weed out people from serving, but to show them what careers they may be best suited for.
Example: I scored VERY high in mechanics. I could have had my pick of mechanical jobs. Still I wanted to be a cop and although I didn't score as high in general I still qualified for SP. Nowadays I look back, with no regrets mind you, and wonder what it would be like if I had taken a mechanical career path. I might have excelled even though I had other career goals in mind.
So don't look at it as a pass or fail type of experience, but a measure of your inner talents.
P.S. The test only requires a less than H.S. equivalency in intellegence. If you graduated(or are about to) you'll do fine.

The ASVAB isn't a very difficult test...always have that mind set and you'll do great...there are study guides located at all major book store, Walden books, etc. The study guide are very easy to use, you can take a few test in the book and it will also help you for the actual test. Very simple, I did a few practice test...after that, I went and took the actual test and scored 120 out of 130...the study guide's help a ton..

I take mine tomorrow, and im with you i hate studying as well, but thats what you gotta do if you wanna score high enough to get a good MOS...my weakness is math ( I HATE IT) but im grabbin all the forumlas out of an "ASVAB for Dummies" book and theres alot of practice tests full versions and practice versions. My advice is just keep taking the practice tests because they tell you the right answers and the process of getting those correct answers and go by that....Good luck!

Get the ASVAB for Dummies. Its a great book and you can get it for like 8 bucks online. It breaks down everything for you and its easy to read. I read it over very lightly and got a 91. I gave it to my buddy,.. he read half the book and got a 82. The ASVAB really isnt that hard dont let it get to you. I would recomend spending time on the Math portion its where I had the most trouble.

Get a study guide. Study just twenty minutes here and there.
If you don't like your score you can take again within 6 months I believe

It is really easy. See if they still offer the written version. It is easier. I scored low on my practice test, but when I took it I got an 80.

Go to a bookstore and buy copies of the practice test books. Time yourself with a clock. Relax; you'll do fine with practice.
Good luck to you.
