Weve known eachother for a long time. we both are in similar situations dealing with recent breakups. weve been talking alot. and hanging out when he comes in town. i feel like its way too soon to have feelings for someone else. i wish i didnt. but everytime we hang out i start getting the feeling more and more that there might be something there. but i dont want there to be because i feel like it could make things hard for me. Plus if anything did happen the relationship would be long distance. And hes about to apply to med school. Im about to apply to grad school. how should i handle the way im feeling? if this is going to happen should i let him make the first move? or should i talk to him about it? or should i just try and ignore it?

The feelings for the close friend might be rebound feelings, infatuation feelings. Let him make the first move if this is what you want but I think its better if you stop thinking about it and just ignore it since it has a very very small chance of becoming anything serious or long term since both of you are headed off to different colleges.

normally i'd say tell him how you feel and go for it!
but i was going out with a guy who had to move away and it just wouldn't work, as much as we both wanted it to.
it's so hard, you can talk everyday, write, send photos. but its just not the same. you're only gonna end up being hurt again.

also the feelings you have for your friend might be false, you're missing your ex boyfriend, you were used to someone being there, having someone to listen to your problems... like this new guy is doing now.

hope i helped!

I'd wait until you have both graduated. Maybe then the feeling will be gone. If you think it's going to be hard on you, don't risk it. Besides, he should be the one to make the first move anyway.
