Tis funny that the astronomical records of the Chinese, Mayans, Japanese, and many other societies--never noted this highly unusual circumstance. Course actually if the earth stopped rotating suddenly everyone would have kept going at 25,000 miles an hour tangent to the position they held when the earth stopped rotation. Still can't figure out why we can't see all the buildings and corpse head towards alpha centauri on radar--should be a huge signature. Or perhaps the bible just lied about it.

Scientifically talking, the solar is "nonetheless" interior the experience the earth rotates around the solar, no longer that the solar rotates around the earth. The events defined in Joshua prepare that there became a concept the solar remained nonetheless interior the heavens. So it sounds as though like the earth stopped rotating on its axis. suggestions boggling! yet, as others have spoke of, it wasn't Joshua who did something - it became the author of the universe who wrought the miracle. Edit: i like the way a chum places it - additionally Scythian.

Yes: Everything was slowed down to win the battle & Hezekiah in 2 Kings 20 : 11 the time went backwards 10
degrees. All of this had to be considered by NASA on their
space flights, one day in space was missing. If you do not
believe this maybe the space program is a hoax.

No, this is because no other civilization on the world, at that time, noticed anything. You have to admit that a longer day would have caused a great deal of notice, especially in the Greek culture.
Edit:
Just to be clear, NASA planning for the "stop" in the earth's rotation is a complete and total myth, just like bumble bees defying the laws of aerodynamics.

I believe it happened based on the changing poles of the Earth (shown by magnetic rocks in the wrong direction).
"The magnetic field has not always been in its present configuration. At times in the past, the poles have reversed or changed direction so that the north magnetic pole becomes south and vice versa...Past reversals of the magnetic field are recorded in the rocks. Many rocks contain iron-bearing minerals that act as tiny magnets. As magma or lava cool, these minerals begin to form. At this point the molten rock has not completely solidified, so the magnetic minerals floating in the molten mass, become aligned to the magnetic field. When the rock finally solidifies, these minerals “lock in” the magnetic field as so many tiny compasses. " http://www.utdallas.edu/~pujana/oceans/mag.html
EDIT: As a Christian, I find it laughable how many answers are stemming from a chain letter. I read the snopes site posted by someone earlier. I had read the same info, but also base my beliefs on other verifiable "proof."

There are some scientist who believe that this event did occur, based upon their findings of missing time. There were 2 events that occurred in the Bible which now adds up to exactly the amount of missing time that scientist were unable to account for.

Why shore!! The earth could stop rotating for most of a "whole day", and there would be no consequences whatever!! Yep, "god" just reached out and stopped the world from turning. Then, when "he" was ready, "he" just gave it a little spin and PRESTO....it was revolving again exactly as it was before, and there were no adverse effects at all!!!!! The bible is the greatest force for atheism ever created.

Well, its in the Bible so it must be true, otherwise the Bible would not be true and an absolute interpretation of what is in it would be enitrely impossible.
So you can see that it is much easier to believe that the laws of phsyics in their entirety were temporarily suspended just for Joshua. That makes much more sense. I mean, the Bible just can't be wrong. Can it?
