You should get a cat closer to your siamese's age. A kitten will in most cases annoy an adult cat unless the cat is still very active.
It's cheaper to get a male fixed than a female, but that's the only benefit I see in choosing between sexes. Otherwise I say go with the one you connect best with.
For future reference cats do best adopted in pairs from the beginning.

If you fixed your siamese cat early enough in his life, spraying probably won't be a problem. Beyond that, it's really all what you prefer. We find male cats more affectionate (after being fixed) for whatever reason, but that may just be a coincidence.

I had a year old male cat and got a male kitten, it worked out great, they are both neutered and I have never had any spraying issues at all, plus males are statistically more cuddley then females.

Males are usually more affectionate.
Females tend to be more stand offish.
I use to raise Persians. Of my three females. One would meet me every morning throw herself down in front of me to be petted. Then get up and disappear for most of the day. One female had bouts of demanding attention. Once she tried to stand on my head cause I ignored her visiting with a friend. My male always stayed in the same room that people were in. I could always count on him to cuddle.
Which ever one you decide to go with. Have it nuetered at six months. Cats have a strong sex drive and will drive you crazy if you don't

The sex of the new kitten has not any effect on his potential to "spray" urine. Either would be fine. If he does spray out of wanting to mark his territory he will do so be it a male or female kitten.

Usually once male cats are neutered, they stop spraying, so no worries.
ALL cats make for incredible companions. But I've found that females are more congenial and affectionate.

FEMALE. I speak from experience. Males are threatened by other males...it's a territorial issue. Males tend not too mind females much.

I've had seven cats in my life, and I've got to say, males may be more of a hassle in the beginning, but ultimately they are sweeter than females.
