Yes very true. Make sure to keep all dead people in your home away from your cat.

Ok, im sorry, but do you really need to ask? I'll try to be serious. Even though I'm laughing. I have 3 cats. And although some people beg to differ, I still have my soul. If not, hey, its news to me. And I guess a starving cat locked in your house may eat your dead body if it was lying around. But so would a dog. Or a mouse. I mean, hello.

Both have been known to nibble on their owners when trapped in a home with a deceased person. Cats may be a little more quick to decide that you're edible than a loyal dog, but when driven by necessity they'll all chow on people. So will birds, if you were curious...

Although both animals are loyal, a cat is more likely to feed of you should you die and they had no other way to survive. A dog is less likely to feed off you as they need water just as much as humans do so providing there is no water avail then they would either be to weak or be dead. The cat on the other hand can survive a lot longer than dogs and humans with out food or water. Dogs may be relatives of wolves but they have revolved as mans best friend.

I've heard stories about old cat ladies who've died and all her cats ate her. You have to remember that cats are animals and they need to eat, so if there is a source of food then why not eat.
As for dogs, they will eat a dead body. Dogs come from wolves and if the need arises they will scavenge.

Dogs will do it. Case in point: Fallen silent film start Marie Prevost. She drank herself to death and wasn't found for days. When she was discovered, her little doggy had gnawed at parts of her legs. Click link to learn about this gruesome truth. :) Cheers.
Nick Lowe wrote a song about her:
She was a winner
That became a doggie's dinner.
She never meant that much to me.
Oh, poor Marie.

An animal will resort to drastic measures if it's starving to death, doesn't matter what kind of animal it is. Even people have eaten other people in such situations, you know. =\
