the birth of Muhammad, his first revelation or his flight to Medina?

His flight to Medina. It is know as the Hijrah. This is the correct term for the Muslim calender which is lunar not solar so each month begins on the sighting of the crescent moon and the months rotate backwards between the seasons.
Muslims use the Hijrah calender.

His flight from Mecca to Medina. It is purely lunar (unlike the Gregorian, which is solar) and is not 365 days long. This means the calendar moves around through the year, as do Muslim holidays (in relation to the Gregorian calednar).
