Why are you on R & S?
You are not religous or spiritual.....
Are you just here to mock and ridicule those who do believe there is something bigger than us out there?
Do you think that by being cruel and hateful to us or using some ridiculous statement or question about the bible you will actually cause us to throw up our hands and admit you are right?
By insulting our faith you are insulting the very fiber of our being. It is at the very heart of who we are.
I see alot of you on here claiming that we attack you for your beliefs and we preach fire and brimstone yada...yada...yada.
How is that any different than what you are doing?

I understand those who are earnestly seeking and curious. I am speaking to those of you who only try and disproove or mock those who believe.
I don't believe I said anything hateful. It is an honest question.

This question is not addressed to you. You clearly have faith in something other than yourself.

Don't feed the trolls, Hun. Like feeding bears, it only invites trouble.
Be comfortable and happy with your own beliefs, enjoy the company of those who share your beliefs, and ignore the people who don't. They may be rude, mean, and down right wrong . . . but you are only giving them what they want when you fight back.....So please . . . Don't feed them anything. Just let them exhaust themselves with their own negativity.
Have fun and don't let trolls ruin your day.

If you were to stop shoving your religion down my throat in my daily life I would back off a little, but then there are people on this forum who ask intelligent questions and might like an answer other than "Jesus is the answer" which says nothing. Maybe they want intelligence and rational thought processes. You on the other hand want nothing more than some one to nod and say you are right no matter what you say or ask. You don't want anything resembling an intelligent response to your questions. So why are you here. You could as easily ask the question in front of a mirror and answer yourself and get the same answers as you would from other fundies on this forum.

Most of the post I respond too are not very serious anyway, but let me clear a thing up for you people that come on here seeking answers that could easily be found in any place of worship, I am assuming they want a wide spectrum of answers so in that spirit I give them my take. Just like when Xians see a post by an atheist they respond. If you only want to here gibberish back in response to gibberish then ask your priest, preacher, reverend, or other religious leader they will be more than happy to give you an answer that is common and happy little music to the ears.

Question for you: do you realize that you are like, literally the hundredth person to ask this question?
I see that you use a hasty generalization in you description of atheists on R&S. I don't blame you, I could do the same thing with R&S Christians.
However, Yahoo Answers is an open forum, and its sections are free for anyone to ask and answer questions pertinent to the section. R&S is not some exclusive club or hangout place for Christians and other religious people to loiter around, it is for anyone, including atheists, to ask about anything relevant to religion and spirituality. Don't be so presumptuous to think that only theists can have questions about religion.
There are some atheists who just troll around asking lame questions to get a creationist's reaction, but that's only because they find it entertaining that it is so easy to get creationists riled up. To be fair, there is an almost equal number of theist and atheist trolls.
Anyways, my point is, R&S is not a club for religious social networking (try MyChurch if you want that), it is an open forum for anyone to ask about anything on religion.

First off, it is entirely possible to be spiritual and religious and incredibly presumptuous of you, as a Christian, to assume otherwise.
We are free to mock and ridicule as we see fit, and you are free to continue to judge and denigrate us for our unbelief.
We don't care if you abandon your Mithraic myths and embrace a life free of ritual and superstition. We have no desire to convert you whatsoever and ask that you return the favor but again, as a Christian, you can't because you have been commanded to preach God's word to all, even those who have no desire to hear it.
A belief in a Bronze Age book and its major character should not be the "very fiber" of anyone's being and it saddens me that you have sold your heart and mind so cheaply.
There is no fire and brimstone for atheists because we believe that when you die and we die, we both rot, another chief difference between the two entities.

Just because I am not religious does not mean that I shouldn't be able to discuss religion in an open forum, as religion affects my life whether I like it or not. I try to do so without mocking or ridiculing - and a lot of the other non-believers do this as well.
/agnostic
not belieiving in God does not mean you cant have a spiritual side - just ask Buddhists.

It would be nice for you, to remain secluded and insulated against all other opinions and knowledge. It must be scary to see so many people who get along without the security blanket of your religion. Since you know that atheists and other non religious people write on here...why do you read these posts? If you're so scared of them, why don't you just turn off the internet, TV, radio, etc, and hide out in your little religious cult compound, ignoring all the knowledge and progress humans have made over the past 2000 years?

Oh, funny!
Dear, the only reason we are on here is because YOU are. We come here for laughs---and you guys are truly funny. We love to get y'all riled up and it's so easy to do.
You are all particularly funny when you start in with all the bible-babble and martyr stuff (ya know - like "everybody is picking on me" thingie)
Plus, we LOVE to read about the really, really kindergarten things most believe in...like creationism and the world being only 6000 years old and man existed with the dinosaurs and being possessed by demons and stuff. Why, it's better than TeeVee and funnier too.
So, lighten up. Your religion orders you to be tolerant and charitable. Try it....OK?

Don't quote me on this, but I think that there are those in R and S who value the perspectives of others. Not to mention the fact that there isn't an Atheist/Agnostic section, atleast not yet.

Atheists are here mainly to do their washing. Some of them like to cook a little light lunch while in R&S, others just like the view of the sea from here.
I personally just come to R&S to walk the dogs. They just love romping through the freshly mown christians on a hot summers day.
