That's a hard one. At this age I don't think she will be able to hold a crayon just yet. I did see a new crayon for toddlers, though. It is in the shape of a ball and a lot easier fo the child to hold. Maybe try these. I know to keep my 1 year entertained we do a lot of puppet shows and interaction with stuffed animals. My son loves it when we play with his Elmo's and Barney dolls and I make up funny voices for each one. Here is a link to the new crayons also.

Save the crafts for when she's older, as she really isn't ready for all that much yet. Things she can handle now are finger painting (messy but fun!), scribbling with different art supplies (colored pencils, markers and crayons - all under close supervision), playing with play dough, etc.

Messy activities are what my eldest (he is know 3) liked, don't know yet about my youngest (not quite 5 months!!).
Finger paints and feet painting (if they can walk) are great just remember plenty of newspaper and a bowl of soapy water for where you are finished.
Play-dough / salt dough is great. If you use salt dough you can always bake their creations, e.g tree decorations using cake cutters, for future use.
There is always a trip to a park, to see the animals - birds etc.
Hope any of these ideas help.

This is a link for introducing arts and crafts to a 1 year old. Remember, they have short attention spans.
If grandma can stand a bit of noise for a while, I also recommend introducing musical instruments to her at this age (percussion type instruments for now)

finger painting
playdough
baking
fuzzyfelt
collages - magazine pages,round-ended scissors and prit stick (maybe in a few months)
jigsaws
get her to take titch to the library - some days they have story sessions too!
big fat wax crayons - don't let granny get her biros or felt tips, it actually slows them down with mark-making
a soft-bodied doll to dress and undress would be good too - and gran could knit some extra clothes?

At this age, not a whole lot....but try Play-Doh and fingerpainting, stamping and gluing things to paper. It will take a lot of supervision and assistance.
