Call the police and contact the credit bureaus, to quote Sherlock Holmes, "somethings afoot".

You could put a fraud alert on your credit bureau just to be safe.. It's probably nothing though. These girls were probably asked by a lender for personal references in opening an auto loan. The girls may not want to give the personal info of people they know to a lender, so they gave them some fake (or semi-fake) info. Being a personal reference for someone does not obligate you to a loan. Wst case scenario, if they didn't pay the account, a collector may try to contact you for some info about the girls.. Then you could tell them you have no idea who they are and can't help them find the vehicle.

The term "stolen identity" is overused.

Don't panic. They are not pretending to be you. They probably got your name from some easily available source, like the phone book, or one of them works for somebody that you did business with, or a friend does, etc. The address is wrong to make it harder to contact you, but close enough that they can claim it was a "mistake" if they get caught. They are probably betting that nobody will really check.

You said you never heard of them and now you are done with this.
