I'm looking for the best homemade cookie recipe....?

Do you have any favorites that you have made yourself and loved? Any secret ingredients I should know to try?

There are so many..... Add chocolate chips, raisins. dried fruit
Here is one that is good for holidays or ordinary day is
Marsh-mellow Crispy Treats:
6 cups of Rice Krispies or (generic brand)
3 Tbsp margarine or butter
1 package of marsh-mellow 10oz bag has 38 or 40
big marsh-mellow or could use marsh-mellow creme too.
Microwave margarine in large micro. bowl on high 45 sec. or until it is melted.
Add marsh-mellows ; toss to coat with margarine.
Microwave 1.5 minutes or until mixture is smooth when stirring add the cereal quickly then put into a greased 9x13 pan . Let it cool, cut into squares. Makes bout 24 squares.

Everyday Cookies


2/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs.
Dissolve soda in milk. Add vanilla to butter/sugar/egg mix.
Stir flour in slowly. Add salt. Chill 1/2 hour or overnight. Roll out. Dip cutter in flour before every cutting. Bake for
about 8 to 10 minutes (350 degrees F.).

FROSTING:

1 lb. powdered sugar
1 stick butter, or = shortening if you want white white
1 tsp vanilla

Beat together. Add milk to bring to spreading consistency.
Gel or paste colorings give cleaner colors. Make small bowls of a variety of colors. Make with family and friends and then enjoy with coffee and tea and hot cocoa!

these cookies are the best, especially when you replace the vanilla flavoring with almond extract. Everyone always asks me for the recipe!!
