I learned from the bible that money is the root to all evil but had I not of read it from the bible I would still say money. Money changes everything. My favorite saying is "Money comes, money goes." I thank God that I'm not a material girl. I'm grateful and content with what God gives me. If I had more than I needed than I wouldn't need God anymore. My hardtimes are always met in one way or another when I depend on God. I believe religion stems off from the root.

Good question. Most people believe that money is the root of all evil. But this is not true. The truth is that "the love of money" is the root of all evil. The "love of money" causes the evilness of it.

Nothing is the root of all evil. There are things that are the root of some evil, but nothing is the root of all evil.

Anyways, I think greed is the root of a lot of evil.

The root of all evil? Pride, arrogance, conceit.

While many people quote the bible to say-
Money is the root of all evil

It is a blatant misquote. The Scripture actually states that "The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."

If money were the root of all evil then evil did not exist until money did.

However, we know that the cause of Satan's fall was pride, and so must pride be the root of all evil. And look around you, what is more abundant than man's hubris?

if you absolutely must think of things in terms of "good and evil" then the root of evil (as well as good) is attachment and desire. without a desire for something to happen, then there can be no preception of something fitting that desire or not fitting that desire, and thus being termed good or evil. attachment to money seems to be a common thread. as well attachment to religion. but most of all, its attachment to self which causes good and evil. this is what the bible speaks of when Eve eats from the tree of knowledge. It isnt until she is aware of her self and her own nakedness that good and evil can be percieved.

Pride is the Mother of all sin. It is the root of all evil, because ones pride only serves ones self and not others. You put yourself above all others.
