It will cost you eternal life.
For what shall it profit a man (or woman) if s/he gains the whole world, and loses his/her own soul? Mark 8:36.

Depends on what you mean by "becoming" a scientologist.
Its been awhile since I took any courses from them so I will go by the anti-scientology sites quotes which are probably up to date. The first course (my favorite) is the Personal Comnications course. Its something like $50. I guess you could take that and "become" a scientologist. For that matter you might be able just to buy the book Dianetics and become one.
Of couse the further classes tend to go up. The Better Studying course is still pretty cheap and good for everyone.
After that the prices fluctuate. The Detox is variable depending on how much drugs/alcohol you've done.
The advanced auditing is 1-on-1 purchased by the hour. It can start at $16/hour and go as high as $300. Depending on how much you feel you need. Older people with troubled childhoods would get pretty expensive.
To go the full route can be as expensive as a rich mans car. Thats probably more than most people want to spend to empower themselves. But its still cheaper than reaching the top of most other religions (give up all your worldly goods and join a monastery)

Are you going to go all the way? Like becoming a priest? If you are in the US that can cost you as much as a small house! Even if you get to the very top person I don't think you make a profit.
Pick something newer. Jedi, or Pastafarian, or my favorite the Church of the SubGenius. Of course CotSG is about as opposite of CoS as you can get in its end goal but it would be much cheaper.
But according to the rates on xenu.net I guess Scientology is still cheaper than the most common religions. Just joining them is expensive (10% of your income?!?). And to become a priest they make you give up everything. ALL income. Of course they do have the advantage that if you get really really high up there then you can live like a king. Have you ever seen where the pope lives? Or a shiek?

Tom Cruise will float you a loan. Or maybe Travolta.
How much do the little tin-foil hats cost? I bet they're cute.

Whatever is costs you, it will be too much to hear a bunch of nonsensical bullshit. Hell, if scientology was free, it still wouldn't be worth any of your time and effort.
Don't get into scientology without carefully reading everything on this site

Scientology is a cult for people WITH money.
Unless you are wealthy perhaps you should look elsewhere for "salvation".
