we all heard about the school teacher who was going to be inprisoned and whipped for naming a teddy bear mohamid {sp.?} and countless other examples of whippings, beheadings, behandings, gang rapes because a woman was in a car with a man she wasn't related too, and so on. if Islam is supposed to stand for peace, why all the violence and oppression? i have heard from some muslums that radical islam has twisted the teachings to their own meanings but there sure seems to be alot of it. is it possible that the religion is transforming into radicalism?

kurd-2-g, what the heck are you talking about? are you advocating beating your daughter? the girl who was gang raped, imprisoned,and sentenced for 99 lashes was TALKING to someone not related to her. i hope that i just misunderstood your broken english and that is not what you were refering to.

it is in fact a religion of murder. Everybody always trots out The Crusades. In fact, the crusades were a response to the islamic pogrom of murder against innocent Christians. A religion of peace. My dirty balls!

When we read about the things we are sure that everywhere in this earth something or the other is happening so fast that we are knowing it. It is not ISLAM nor CHRISTIANITY nor HINDU it depends on the people, the area.
Cruelty is all over the world in every religion.
As middle east is fast growing Asian country because of petroleum so people came to know about it.
In STATES, EUROPE, JAPAN, CHINA, INDIA there are places were same cruelty exist but are not Muslims.

Radical Muslims have done as good a job of twisting the teachings of their prophet as Christians have misinterpreted the teachings of Jesus. Taken out of context the content of any book considered to be holy, can be twisted and shaped to mean almost anything to anyone. Where white supremicists found the ammunition they claim to have found in the teachings of Jesus, is way beyond my comprehension. Radical Islam is to Islam like the Nazis or KKK is to Christianity

Islam does not have a culture of death and/or violence
All the knowledge and values shared by a society is the definition of culture therefore your premise is flawed.
A review of history may reveal -- when too much religious fervor is allowed to govern societal mores the results reflect the abhorrent egos of a minority of bigots---regardless of religion
Jihad may also be personal===
Osama bin Laden may have a personal axe to grind becasue of failed attempt to assinate him by intelligence agencies of the US.......
the US public may never know all details of who did what when
good question you posed however

There are radical Christians too. Read up on the crusades. Every major religion has some radical sub component. There are level headed Muslims. Not all of them are AK wielding terrorists. Those are just the ones that give good Muslims a bad image.

Some Arab states are more fundamentalist than others. On one end of the scale, you have Iran, where homosexuality is actively enforced [death penalty] and men are not allowed to get fancy hair cuts - men aren't supposed to care what they look like. And then on the other side of the scale, is the United Arab Emirates, specifically Dubai, where Islam is a side note to their lives. Gays still face death penalty, but its not actively enforced.

The Quran is firmly embedded in the middle-ages and its associated barbarity. Its Medinan (later) verses are irredeemably aggressive and violent.

The truth is that true Islam is what the 'radical' islamists believe. Over the years, the Islam religion has changed...becoming less violent. Mohamehed (I can't spell his name right) called for violence - 'Kill the infidel'
