At the risk of being booed back into my shell, I think we worry too much about it. The worrying uses up our positive energy and makes us more vulnerable to illness and disease.
However, I do believe in sensible eating. I believe in listening to my body; if it doesn't like what I have eaten, it will let me know in small ways.
But I would never be so extreme as to refuse to eat a meal cooked for me by a friend once in a while, despite it containing things I think are harmful to me personally.
Just not every day!
My family are basically meat-eaters. My mother's generation and the generation before hers, would have found a meal without meat as the main dish, supplemented by potatoes and some boiled veggies, as insulting and non-gratifying.
They made it a rule to have fish once a week, but basically the percentage of meat was very high.
But they came from very cold climates! And my grandmother, who was the biggest stickler to this rule, lived to be 100!
My husband is Japanese and scorned my race for eating too much meat. Once he met my Gran, he changed his opinion.
I think people should eat what they like, and enjoy every mouthful, unless their doctor has advised them to cut down on something harmful to them. (In the case of diabetes, heart disease etc.)
What I do firmly believe in is good food, natural food, fresh food.
Organic, preservative-free, and clean.
You need meat in a cold climate, so make sure the meat is free-range and doesn't contain all the chemicals which are force-fed to animals in horrific farming conditions.
Add to this the method of slaughter. It is now becoming increasingly apparent that the stress before death in modern slaughter houses produces negative hormones which are stored in the meat. I believe we are what we eat, so we will digest that and eventually it will make us ill. Probably mentally ill, rather than physically!
Kosher or Halal methods of slaughter are really best.
In a nutshell, eat what makes you happy, but choose the best.
It isn't the food which causes cancer, but all the additives and chemicals in it, and also HOW it is cooked.
Rancid oil is a major factor in this. Olive oil is best, and even then should not be re-used. And you need to keep it in the fridge if you don't have a cold larder.
Basically, you don't need to worry too much about the food you love to eat, but just apply common sense to its origins, check its chemical make-up and preparation.
Look for food when you feel ill rather than running to the doctor to get chemical medicines. You will be amazed at the power to heal in a bulb of garlic, or some fresh ginger root or a tub of yogurt!

Food and cancer what should we really eat?
this answer is so simple. man was designed to consume foods that are all natural. this means the flesh of animals/fish , vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds that are grown in the soil. heavily processed chemically laden foods made by man in giant factories should be consumed at the absolute minimum. these are the foods that are contributing to the decline of the health status of Americans today. when you combine inactive lifestyles with a diet of processed foods a declining health status could be the only end result. the human genome has not changing just the amount of daily activity and the foods that are being consumed. eating healthy is not hard it just takes more effort than most are willing to put forth.
science has shown time and time again that vegans are not healthier nor do they have a higher quality of life when compared to the omnivore that follows a diet of similar caloric intake. there are just as many sick vegans/vegetarians than there are omnivores.

Scientists like to play God, which involves being able to explain everything in black & white.
As we know, there are many shades of gray in the world.
Saying bacon increases the risk of cancer is ridiculous. How do they explain cancer case 100-200 years ago when the pigs were slaughterd and brought to the table without adding anything.Their sample size was 6,000, just a fraction of all cancer cases. Since there are so many variables, i'd be intrested to see their methodology.
A balanced diet, and a bit of what you fancy will do you no harm.

Allegedly they are healthier, but many years ago some vegan friends had two children with rotten teeth.
My opinion is (Like most things in life) that we can eat, and drink, what we like as long as it is done in moderation.

Yeah, dude, they are. Biologically speaking, we should not eat anything that doesn't have a vegetal origin and we should not eat anything cooked in any way. All the cookind, procesing, macerations, etc. are what make food "unhealthy" and all those proceses are what make food a cancer source.

this is fake. what motives maximum cancers is while a mutation interior your cells is going incorrect starting to be broken cells, and the mutation keeps to cut up forming greater broken cells. and while they cluster they type what we call maximum cancers. eating burnt food won't be tasty to maximum whether it actually wont reason maximum cancers.
