Many times the lights stay on past the time school starts, to protect those who show up late. Like you and your daughter. It sucks, I know, as does my wife. I met her the very first time by giving her a ticket in a school zone, 42 in a 20. Almost 15 years later, she is still paying for it!

No. The lights were flashing. You would be so mad if you saw someone speeding through a school zone. You would be yelling and screaming things like "what if my daughter was walking across the street??!!!"
Pay the ticket and go 20mph in a school zone like you are supposed to.
Try leaving earlier so you don't get into this mess again.

No. You have no chance. The reason the lights are still on is because students come to school late. You stated yourself you were running behind. Well everyday someone is running a little behind. SO the lights stay on for a while after the school has started for those who are running a little behind. pay the fine and slow down. GOing to court is only going to result in you paying court costs.

Probably not. I've never been able to talk my way out of a ticket, no matter the situation. Once I happily explained to the cop that I was taking my kids home for dinner and didn't mean to speed, and the cop explained to me that he had just been at an accident scene were a family had died on a highway. That sortof brought the chatter to a complete end and I paid the ticket.

Nope. The city sets the time so allow children that are late to be safe as well. You should not be speeding in a school zone anyway. Pay the ticket and learn.

No you have no chance. The speed limit changes with the flashing lights, not with the start of school. You were speeding, just pay the fine.

You may as well pay the ticket and save adding court costs. You will not win. The lights WERE on, thats all that matters.

Ummmm....You were late. Do you think other kids that may be walking can be late too?
It would suck for the judge to say to you in court, in front of all those people, wouldn't it?
