He has told me at least 20 separate times that he really wants to kill somebody. Last night he told me that he is completely obsessed with the idea. He wants to tie somebody up and torture them and then kill them. He said that he can't stop thinking about it. It's the first thing that he thinks about when he wakes up and he's up all night thinking about it. He wants to stop but where can we go for help? What's wrong with him???? This is very abnormal.

I've already called our pastor. He is coming over this afternoon to talk to him. It could be schizophrenia. Some of my family members have mental illness that requires medication but my family has never had a murderer before.

I don't think a pastor is going to help (and I am a firm believer in the power of spirituality) - at this point, your son has admitted to having a desire to kill...and at some point he will no longer be able to control it. He probably fantasizes about it, imagines how he would do it, plans on when, who, etc. This is NOT normal and he needs to have a clinical evaluation immediately. There are medications and counseling that can help someone like him. The church background is good to have, as is faith, but that alone will not cure what is wrong with your son.

Look, I know you love your son and you should be concerned enough to have him comitted. He's begging for help here!!! I would say that the person he's most likely to tie up and carry out his "vision" is you. PLEASE GET HIM SOME HELP NOW!!! Your pastor isn't the one to call, dear lady. You need a psychiatrist or take him to the emergency room. Not only is this "abnormal", it's outright dangerous for him and someone else. Prayers for you.

Take your son to a Professional, as soon as you can. He is your Primary concern, and thank God that he is willing to go. If you have financial difficulty, think of getting help for that as Second concern, while he is being treated. Pray that he will be in the right place to receive treatment, while it may be abnormal it is treatable, my very best wishes for your sons health an well being , as well as yours.Know of my prayers........

See a psychologist right away. Go to the nearest hospital and ask for the psychologist on call when you get there. Homicidal thoughts and desires could be a symptom of schizophrenia.

Counseling is the best place to start. It sounds like he is looking for control and an outlet for his rage. He needs to get to the bottom of why he is so angry and the best way is to go to a professional.

Take him to a mental insitute or a therapist because your ords only are not going to help him. The more youtry to help him yourself or sort of "support" him he will begin to think it's okay. Get professional help, ASAP!!!!!

He is asking you for help so get it for him. It sounds like he needs to be inpatient somewhere for a little while so he can sort all of this out. Don't wait or it may be too late.
