I made this relish with

Cranberries, Pecans, and oranges, and orange peel and a tad of sugar, would that be a healthy breakfast for being pregnant or at all?

It would be healthy stirred into some oatmeal, with a side of lowfat milk or yogurt, yes.

That sounds quite yummy and nutritious as PART of a healthy breakfast. I'm assuming that there is more to you breakfast than this:-) You need plenty of protein so eggs are good - Not the time to be too worried about cholesterol etc. the fat and protein in eggs are great for your growing babe!

As poster 1 said, be careful of too much citrus with heartburn etc - but cranberries are excellent for urinary tract health

When pregnant it will be a good idea to add some cereal or 12 grain toast along with what you are already craving. The body seems to have a memory of sorts i.e. when you are craving something in particular it's usually something you have eaten in the past with particular vitamins and your body now needs more of them. I have a friend who started eating chalk - she was a tad short of calcium - add milk to your cereal. If you are likely to have heartburn it will happen regardless of what you eat. Talk to your Mom, aunts, sister/s. You may also find yourself drawn to foods that you didn't particularly care for in the past e.g. hot banana peppers or even grape popsicles...don't worry about it just try to watch quantities. Please discuss with your Doctor you may need a supplement. The baby will take everything it needs for healthy development from you so you will need to eat from the 5 main food groups but my advise is don't eat anything you don't like or don't want just because someone tells you "it's good for you". Trust your body and your baby.
