it is ignorant to go to another country and insult the people there; it could be worse ; go to Singapore and commit vandalism and you are caned; steal and they cut your hands off; drugs and they put you to death; they just did that to an Australian and caned an American; go to Portugal and not wear your seat belt as a passenger and you have to pay the fine on the spot; no money , you go to jail ; every country has different customs, cultures; you don't go to another country and act like you are home; here in USA, if you yell out fire in a public place for prank , you will be arrested; you do your homework; it isn't as simple as a teddy bear; when in Rome do as the Romans do or face the consequences of your arrogance and ignorance , self inflicted. She was the adult and in position of authority; I bet she will never make the same mistake again; children are named as honor not potentially mocked as naming a teddy bear; you have to have sensitivity to the customs, rituals and culture of others or stay at home.

Personally, I never gave a crap about Gillian Gibbons. She made her bed, let her lie in it. She knew she was going to a country full of people who are so ashamed of their crappy dysfunctional culture that anything -- ANYTHING -- will drive them into a homicidal rage.

The lesson is that we need to cut off immigration from muslim countries. We don't need them exporting their poisonous religion here.

No, she should have told him to go *---* himself, and THEY should have apologized to her.

If they had behaved like civilized adults when this happened, and just pulled her aside and explained to her that naming a teddy bear was offensive to their religion, THEN they would have been worthy of an apology.

It was the children who voted on the name. If it was sooooo offensive to them, then I guess they should punish the parents for being such terrible parents as to raise such ghastly children who would vote for such a terrible thing. Sheesh. I hope this is a wake-up call to the world (just in case they missed (9-11, the suicide bombers, the Taliban, the flogging of raped women, etc, etc,) that Islam is a fascist religion that will take away all of our rights to free speech, religion, dress, etc, and install a regime of fear if we don't stand up to them. The whole world needs to stand up to the extremists and stop kissing their boots and apologizing to them for being free.

I think this is really funny! They can name thier kids three time with the same name but not a teddy hahaha. Men are weak, they fail that get sick and die! If that isn't an insualt then i have no idea what is.
