do you think creationists will be the downfall of Christ-followers (i.e. Christianity)? Intelligent people who have not taken sides on religion or atheism see the idiocy of creationists and immediately they are turned off by the ill-informed ignorant creationist delusional stories. How the creationists reject how God really did things (that is obvious through science) and instead side with an established dogmatic misinterpretation of Genesis. Again, do you think creationists will be the downfall of Christianity? Also do you know if creationism is on the decline? And those who have opened their eyes from the creationist lies- do you think they become atheists more often or do they become theistic evolutionists?

To "Question"- With the perfect physical evidence we have for Evolution, Creationism is belief to the point of absurdity and stupidity. Best you reconsider the possibility you misinterpreted the Bible rather than testify for Christ AND an idiotic belief that is proven false that only makes all of us Christians look like idiots. Like Francis Collins explained, the Bible is book of love and Jesus Christ's sacrifice for us, it's not a book of science. By definition, that's impossible. When you try to make it science you turn millions away from Jesus Christ.

If the Bible is wrong when it speaks of God creating in six days, why is it not wrong when it speaks of the virgin conception or resurrection of Jesus? How do you know there was a virgin birth? Even if you were there you would have to take Mary’s word for it. How do you know Jesus rose from the dead? You may have all this circumstantial evidence, but how do you ultimately know? Because of the words of Scripture. Do you know why I believe in 6 literal days less than 10 thousands years ago—because of the words of Scripture.
If we compromise on Genesis 1, then this can lead to a slippery slope of unbelief throughout the rest of Scripture. If we can’t accept what God says here, why should we accept what He says in other places? If we can reinterpret Genesis 1, why can’t we reinterpret other things? Why can’t we reinterpret morality? And that’s what many Christians today are doing.
If we do not allow the language of the Bible to speak to us in context, but try to make the text fit ideas outside of Scripture, then ultimately the meaning of any part of Bible depends on man’s interpretation, which can change according to whatever outside ideas are in style.
So why do people try to cram evolution and millions and of years into Genesis 1? It’s academic peer pressure; it’s not wanting to be different from the world. We are so indoctrinated in millions of years and molecules-to-man evolution and many Christians are intimidated by the secular scientists. But secular scientists are fallible human beings with limited knowledge and limited understanding, and like every human, they hate to be criticized and are subject to bias and preconceived ideas. Evolution and millions of years is a belief system about the past based on the words of men who don’t know everything and who were not there. And history shows that the scientific establishment has been wrong time after time; that is why the science textbooks constantly have to be revised. Stop trusting in man and start trusting in the Word of God.
Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar.”

I think that hardcore creationists will ultimately drive more people away from Christianity ... maybe not to atheism, but to a religion where you aren't expected to completely ignore and discredit science.
The reason I say this is because, as a Christian who acknowledges evolution, I have been told countless times that I am not a real Christian and that I am "lukewarm". I'm sure other Christians with similar viewpoints have heard the same things. Although faith *IS* about God, its hard to be constantly rejected by the people who are supposed to be your "brothers and sisters".

hi, There can not be lack of life before sin so evolution (survival of the fittest who also die) can not be universal. Theistic evolutionists frequently doubt the different miracles also. DNA and the complexity of cells now proves evolution no longer available besides. See Anthony Flew the British prime proponent of evolution who renounced it and universal I.D. nev

Christianity is not going to fall, it is going to be raised up by Christ when He returns. It is really hard to be a Christian and tell God that he is a liar. There are not many "Christian theistic evolutionists" around, just misguided people who think they are christians because they live in a "christian" country, or were raised in a "christian" home. True Christians believe God.

No I don't. The issue of creation is basically irrelevant to the Christian message.
I can't understand why people waste so much time, money and emotional energy on it.

Yup. God had his methods in creating the world. It was a process that we should be in awe of. It is magnificent and is proved by science.
