Scientists have abandoned the archaic and inaccurate B.C. designation... when will you?

Astronomical year numbering is based on AD (Anno Domini)/CE (Common Era) year numbering, but follows normal decimal integer numbering more strictly. Thus, it has a year 0 and the years before that are designated with a minus sign '−'.

I won't accept the B.C. designation because I refuse to accept the "Christ" part.

If the system is so "archaic and inaccurate", which does the new one still use the same year to divide between AD and BC?

So you managed to find a calendar system that has a year 0. Bravo for you. There are dozens of calendars out there that use a lot of different year numbering: the Jewish calendar, the Muslim calendar, the Chinese calendar.

So the Astrnomical calendar has a year 0. So what?

The Gregorian calendar still does not.

My source tells me that a new year begins when it begins and not when mankind says it does. Mankind is not capable of more than tricks of the mind. In all his time with all his knowledge, he still can not change what has been created by his creator. He maligns and corrupts in his attempts but he fails and the world dies a little more for his attempts to gain power.

personally, I don't care - the whole BC/AD thing was created by a monk to try to have a unified calendar, instead of "in the 8th year of king so-and-so of England" which of course meant nothing to people in, for example, Austria. Our calendar is completely subjective, so I don't really care what it's based on

Well, there you go. The article you quote clearly states THERE WAS NO YEAR 0 IN THE BC/AD SYSTEM! So, now you really can drop it!
