Yes, under two hypotheses:
1. Humans will become aware of their complete physical mental and spiritual power and learn to be masters of themselves so they don't need to rely on a deity;
2. People will polute the Earth inasmuch as the entire race will go extinct => there will not be anybody to invent that diety. (unless other species have/will have the notion of a diety).

It will never be extinct. Humans all have a subconscious desire to work for and believe some kind of higher power exists.
If it was not God, then it would be some other belief.
"Religion will probably never go extinct. It just holds too much power. It will change however. It will change to sooth the needs of the masses. Or it will change, as in always standing one notch above the basic knowledge of the masses in a society. The western lifestyle, of sex, drugs and rock & roll could be seen as a religion. Maybe the first "real" religion that doesn't praise a God or other fictional being. The word "religion" strikes disgust in the minds of most modern open minded people, for its traitorous past. Modernize it a bit, call it "lifestyle" instead of "religion", and the masses will bite once again. They will throw all their money away at it (fashion, social needs, etc), they will obey it by will (fear of loss of freedoms, fear of exclusion from "popularity", etc) and thus you have full control over a society once again."

Hu-mans do not so much have a 'need' for 'religion' rather, the satanic consciousness inculcates this 'need' from birth - and people are hypnotised.
Religion is your breath, and is your connection to God. We now live in the era where the mysteries of the ages are open for all who wish to share them can come and drink the 'wine of the new and everlasting covenant.'
Death has been swallowed up in victory.
What people need is not the 'religious' indoctrination of established 'churches' but to awaken to the fact that God lives within us and by that Spirit enter into life.

For religion—Yes. For god, I cannot say at this point of time. In my opinion, only scientists will be in a position to arrive at any conclusion about god or no god. They have already been there on moon, are about to go farther on planets as well. And if we assume God’s existence then they have at least unfolded something from his creation and covered at least some distance of the road to god or no god.

Religion will; always be here with us. I believe the ancient pagan religions Will rise and be the majority before long. I doubt it will happen in my life time since I am 55 but I have already seen it become faster growing than Christianity.

I used to think so.I assumed all people had some level of common sense and decency.I now realize that there are many people who actually would go out and rape and steal and molest if they didn't think god was watching.After several years of debate groups,and at least a few gazillion comments by Christians who are absolutely flabbergasted at the thought of being civil without the threat of hell,I realize many many people are completely amoral,and have no reason in their minds not to go rape and steal and molest without the threat of hell.they admit it here several times daily.It's sad to think that "gods chosen ones" seem to be sociopaths at heart.But I understand now that they are,and they NEED religion to stop them from pursuing their sickening urges

Religion, yes. God, no. We are all apart of God and will always long for him. Religion is a man-made attempt to get to God but not everyone needs it. We do need God though.

As long as there are those who maintain fear about the unknown then there will always be people willing to accept a religious explanation of the unknown in order to alleviate fears.So, in order for religion to end, we need to find better ways of alleviating fears other then "God did it" and "good people go to Heaven".
