Hello lisa l
I also have emetophobia.
Try to be careful about what you eat outside your home.
Eat what you like. Make sure it is fresh and safe to eat.
When you are in a restaurant order something you know the restaurant makes well.
I am glad it does not bother you when your husband or son vomits. (UK, I don't even like typing the word.)
For the most part food seems to be pretty safe.
Try to reassure yourself. You must be doing something right if you haven't been sick since you were little.
I think we do not have to worry quite so much. Food has to be safe for us to eat. When in doubt, throw it out.
Best Wishes

A think a huge fear of anything is terrible for the sufferer .... all I can say to you is that it's the fear that you're afraid of, not the trigger of the fear!

If you have a phobia of something, you need to see a psychiatrist or similar to find out why you fear a particular thing. It might be that something happened to you when you were very young that coloured your take on a situation and made you fear a particular thing. Once you find the source, then you can actually deal with it.

Best of luck with this.
