Seemingly god is allergic to iron. Its not the first case of it:

"And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron." (Judges 1:19)

He states: Why? more in reference to why his fellow man and God's children were acting and doing all the horrible things that they at the moment were doing. Keep in mind, though Jesus was given many of God's powers such as the power to heal others, etc. He was still a man and as such was able to feel pain and hurt just like any of us. I'm sure if someone drove a nail through your flesh, even if you knew the reason behind it, you would cry too. Jesus was a human man with the spirit of God within him. He could feel pain and therefore had the ability to cry. It was a choice that he made to die for us, but he knew it would hurt. Read the Bible and stop trying to belittle what was done.

Jesus has always been a Branch of God as He portrays God in human flesh. Those 3 nails and His crying out "My God, My God why have you forsaken Me" are showing His humanity and only confirming that Christ was truly human and God at the same time. How many times in the Word of God did you read that Jesus eluded beatings and being killed? As God, Jesus chose the time and way to die. Jesus fulfilled every Old Testament prophecy of Him, even the crying out to God.

God the Father can't look on sin and when Jesus cried out, God took His hand off Christ so the sins of the world could be poured upon Him. God even said that "it pleased God to bruise Him."

Keep reading the King James Bible, my friend, and you will understand that only God could go to that Cross of Calvary. Descend to hell and take the keys of Hades and death from Satan and triumph over him. No man living can confront the devil and live. Angels are mighty beings. The only weapon I have is Christ in me. The Holy Spirit is my defense. That is why you read, "He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world." With Christ in me, all things are possible to those who believe.

Jesus could have come off that cross easily. Do you understand that mighty angels had to stand back and watch as Jesus was beaten for you and me? One angel slew 185,000 men.

Didn't you read in the Bible that when they came to arrest Jesus that Jesus spoke and the soldiers all fell back at His spoken word?

Jesus even said Himself, "I have the power to lay down my life and the power to raise it back up."

God killed God my friend. No man could have killed Jesus, but that shameful sight was the only way that you could be reconnected to Almighty God. You were disconnected when Adam sinned and brought death into the world in the Garden of Eden. Adam had eternal life until he sinned. Jesus reconnected you back to God so you can have eternal life if you believe in Jesus and what Jesus did for you.

Even Satan was fooled. Satan never dreamed God would do what He did and bare the shame of it. God set the law that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. God required unblemished lambs for sacrifice. Jesus was the final sacrifice; the unblemished Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. Salvation is a free gift from God. You can't be good enough to earn it. It is given freely.
Accept what Jesus has done for you and receive eternal life with Him. He loves you so much that He bore this shame.

Jesus tries to get out of it in the garden of Gethsemane when he asks in Matthew 26:39 "If it be possible let this cup pass from me" and then commits in verse 26:42 that he will do it if the cup did not pass.

Philippians 2:8 remarks on this - that in becoming a man and becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross, it shows that God is not prideful but in fact humble.

Jesus was not created but was one with God from the beginning. He became incarnated in a human body because a blood sacrifice is required to redeem mankind from sin. Of course Jesus accepted his death on the cross, He could have called 12,000 angels to rescue Him at anytime. (Matthew 26:53) You are misinterpreting his statement on the cross as crying in cowardliness instead of the anguish and pain. I imagine crucifixion isn't a picnic.
The main purpose was for his Resurrection. Jesus Lives!!!

The only begotten Son of God, yes indeed, He walked to the cross willingly for you and me, to offer Himself a Holy Living sacrifice that we might be redeemed.

He is THE ONLY Son of THE ONLY God. He freely chose to undergo this suffering to engage the world on our terms, to take on our humanity and become simultaneously one with us and God. This is the extent of His love. He was not compelled at all. He did this as a process whereby we could obtain eternal life with Him.

You're not the first to ask this question

The simple answer is that he knew his mission ... and he knew his mission was to die. He wasn't forced onto his torture stake.

Jesus said he came "not to be ministered to, but to minister and to give his life as a ransom in exchange for many".

He also told his disciples he would die. That's when he told Peter "get behind me Satan". Peter was asking Jesus not to accept his destiny.

Clearly he had the power to avoid the torture stake. when they arrested him, there goes Peter again, what did Jesus say to him when he cut off the soldier's ear? Essentially "don't you think I could call on legions of angels right now?"

The fact that his sacrifice was willing makes his love all the more heartwarming.

He willingly died. Didnt mean he enjoyed it.

He asked "why have you foresaken me" he never asked why am i dangling from a cross?

From the outset, Jesus was going to be the Lamb.

Jesus chose to submit to the will of His Father.

Jesus loved you and me so much He was willing to suufer and die to save us both from our sins.

We couldn't be saved unless there was a perfect sacrifice.

To those who are perishing, the cross is non-sense, but to us who believe, it is the power of God.
