Since the people here constantly ***** about how easy an F1 car is to drive and how crap the drivers are maybe you should watch this video of Richard Hammond from top gear trying simpy to move one. Hes a pretty decent driver of normal cars, probably much better than any of us. He has driven stock type cars before and didnt have much trouble. I read someone here last week say any monkey could drive an f1 car. Now imagine if he was trying to go fast.

Still think F1 is easy?

Montoya was fired from f1. NASCAR was all he could do and still make good money. He's hardly going to say NASCAR is easy is he? Same goes for Villeneuve.

As for the guy who says he has driven something similar to a F1 car...no you havent. Even the GP2/Champ cars are nothing close to an F1 car, not to mind whatever piece of crap you drove.

men well into their 40s can still win races in NASCAR shows that it has very little to do with reaction time and precision. You lose that when you get older hence F1 drivers being younger, fitter, stronger and immensley more reactive. Things come at you so fast in an F1 car your reactions have to be lightning fast. Lots of NASCAR drivers are old and overweight. And yes i know carl edwards is in good shape since everyone brings him up to prove how fit NASCAR drivers are. The fact is Tony stewart is fat yet he is still one of the best and Montoya has put on a load of weight since he went to NASCAR. He would lose performance if he was still in F1

Yes, follow the leader in a big go kart that weighs 2000 lbs less than a stock car is easier. I've driven similar to them and didn't have much problem, but that isn't something to judge by. Maybe you should listen to what your F1 drivers now turned stock car drivers say.. They said Nascar is much more challenging so I believe them, not some show host.

The fact of the matter is that the competition factor in NASCAR is much MUCH better that it is in F1. How many times have you ever seen drivers go 3, 4, or even 5 wide around a racetrack. For the longest time, the only driver that I could ever remember winning was Michael Schumacher. It is never like that in NASCAR. There is much more of a variation of drivers in NASCAR.

There is a heck of a lot of precision and reaction time in NASCAR. People will wreck if they do not have any type of quick reaction time. Have YOU ever driven a NASCAR stock car before with 42 other drivers??? The only reason why there may be any type of need for faster reaction time in F1 is because they go faster. NASCAR doesn't go faster because they are too worried about driver safety.

Yes, Carl Edwards is the only one that gets press time because of how muscular he is but you have only been able to name ONE driver that has any issue of being fat. Do you have any proof whatsoever as to Montoya gaining weight since he left F1???

By the way, I don't think F1 is easy either, everything has its own difficulties.

You're quite wrong. Very, very seldom do serious NASCAR fans claim that driving an F1 car is "easy" or that F1 drivers lack talent. More often they:

1. don't enjoy watching processions, however speedy or high-tech;
2. are turned off by the snooty, pretentious atmosphere that surrounds F1; or
3. can't relate to the emotionless robots now driving in F1. Räikkönen is a heck of a driver, but I own several doorknobs with more personality.

In the real world, it takes tremendous talent and focus to compete at the top level of any form of motorsport -- whether stock cars, open-wheel, sprint cars, drag racing, or what have you. Generally, actual racing drivers respect the talent required in different kinds of racing. It's certain fans who like to pretend that their favorite spectator sport is "best". I guess they want to think they are "better" people, because they watch a "better" sport. It's quite pathetic. My guess is that they were abused as children, and never formed a proper self-esteem.

The video appears to have been made by the experts at ESPN. They spent more time showing head shots of the driver than actual race footage.

I believe you have forgotten that this is America where we are free to decide on what we want to watch and follow for a sport and have our own opinions. You happen to be hawking your sport in a forum that does not care for F1. We know and love Nascar. The only similarities between the two are they both have 4 tires and race on a track. After that, each sport is unique and individual.

No one here is faulting you for your interests, please don't fault us for ours. We just don't happen to agree with you. Kindly keep your thoughts in the F1 forum and leave this one to the true fans of Nascar. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

By the way, I reported you for trolling and being sarcastic to the people in this forum.

It would of been easier for him if they gave him a collar so his neck wouldn't hurt, I see every F1 drive wearing them. Also I don't believe they had the traction control turned on for him. This is a F1 propaganda video to show how hard it is. NASCAR could do the same thing by putting an F1 driver in a stock car with an ill-fitting seat , and low tire pressure (no traction control in NASCAR) and put them on the track at Bristol. They would be complaining how their neck and ribs would be hurting and that would be before they backed the car into the wall.

... I hate to say it but I made it half way through the first video and just about fell asleep. I then tried the second video only to realize that it looked like the the first video. I couldn't take it any more.

... Okay, not to sound rude but I'm sure you guys enjoy F1 just like we enjoy Nascar. That's fine. Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy our sport. Bizz said what needs to be said. You don't have to try to make us believe that F1 is a good sport. It is. But we are in the Nascar section because we fell that Nascar is better.

... Don't be offended if you got some answers that you didn't like. F1 questions should be asked in the F1 section. Those guys are good drivers. They have some drivers that excell and some that don't just like Nascar does. The technology and strategy is different in each. I just happen to like the world of Nascar.

Yeah I've seen that video of Hamster driving the Renault. In respect, F1 is F1, NASCAR is NASCAR. I won't take a jab at it.

just because you can drive/race one type of vehicle does NOT mean that you can translate that to driving another vehicle just as well. I wish people would understand that and stop whining about whether F1, IndyCar or Nascar is the best. They all are what they are and nothing more.

First of all.....NASCAR fans do NOT criticize F1 drivers. Nor do we ever say that F1 cars are easy to drive. I don't know where you're getting your info from, but you're mistaken.

It's the F1 drivers who say "NASCAR is nothing but left turns."

What is your problem?

I never see the Nascar section bash F1. If one person did so what?

If you are not a Nascar fan why are you in the Nascar section?
