I agree with you, am religious but i would never push my believes on anyone!...and if by any chance some of them wanted to convert to my religion i would tell them to find someone else to help them on how to convert cause it really isn't my business! , but we should respect those who try to convert us ...i mean we shouldn't be angry or take it personally!.asking someone to convert is not a bad thing unless this person insults your religion or you personally!

I don't know about pushing, but everyone has the right to tell anyone anything. If the listener doesn't want to hear it, that's their prerogative. Free speech. Difficulties arise when a listener, or the message recipient determines that a speaker or message-bearer has no right to speak, which is wrong.

When anyone approaches me with anything that I am not interested in--leaflet, etc., I say, " that's okay, thanks, I'm good". Or I say a polite, "No, thank you."

If a friend won the lottery, and you didn't want to hear about it, would you go all negative and nasty on them?

So, if someone wants to share what they think is good news, they should be able to do that. And you should be able to move along, or remove yourself politely from the conversation, and are well within your rights to do so.

God has instructed the Church to spread the gospel; this is particularly necessary since things are winding down. If I approach someone who doesn't want to be bothered, or doesn't want to hear it for whatever reason, that's fine with me. It would be great if they were nice about it.

Sure, there are some Christians who are a little more gung-ho in their approach than others, but a firm, "No. But thanks", is all the comment necessary, if you aren't interested.

Hope I helped. God bless you.

It is not good to force your religion upon someone however if they are interested then there is nothing wrong with telling them about it.

I remember once when I was out with my mother shopping and a Jehovah's Witness came up to us and asked "Have you found Jesus?" I looked at my mother annoyed and she replied; "What?! You mean you've lost him again! Well really you ought to keep a better eye on him. Look I've no time right now but if you wait for me here I'll come back and help you look for him." The Jehovah's Witness was clearly not expecting this and stood there mouth wide open and my mother and I walked away. Sometimes I think humour is a good way of getting away from people like that. They are annoying at times but I guess they think that they are doing what is right. However, they won't wear me down I am happy with the religion I follow and have no intention of changing.

Jesus himself did this.

(ACTS 5:42) And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(ACTS 20:20) while I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house.

If you do not like J.W's coming to teach you what the Bible really says, just say so and you will be put on a list of 'do not call',,,and they won't.
However about every six months, a senior male member will call to see if you by any chance have moved house. If so, your house number will be taken off the list..\

This system stops continuous complaints.

But keep this scripture in mind:

(2 PETER 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

Hero,
I generally do not turn people away from my home. When they finish their talk I generally turn the tables and begin mine with them. There are a number of them who just do NOT understand the scriptures and need some direction. I do not believe that the religious should be so PUSHY about spreading their beliefs. I always wait until a person wants to discuss GOD to begin even talking about HIM or HIS SON. Have a great week and a wonderful HoLiDaY!!
Thanks,
Eds

Like others have suggested, there are those who have self belief they are vampires and ingest blood, and there are those with sensitivity to user-friendly, and there are also those who genuinely have ailments that require well-known blood transfusions. i do not imagine anybody has arise with a real stay, matches each and each of the criteria, vampire although. there have been a number of human beings for the era of heritage who helped encourage the vampire fantasy. Vlad is one in all them, yet i have continuously prefered the tale of the Blood Countess, a loopy eu noblewoman who change into very sadistic. curiously quicker or later she change into beating a gentle maid and were given blood on her face and determined the floor appeared rejuvenated afterwards. She went on to homicide 1000's of youthful lady and bathe of their blood. thinking the way the vampire fantasy has such an excellent style of diverse kinds i do not imagine there might want to ever be genuine sturdy evidence. yet I nonetheless do not walk down darkish alleys or carry close out in graveyards on my own at nighttime.

Definately. I detest proselytizing. I prefer teachers, not preachers. I don't mind learning about others, it helps you learn more about yourself by comparing and contrasting. But I don't want someone shoving their ideas down my throat with the only backup to their argument being "Because it is written that way" or "Because our religious leader says so."
If someone came to my house, I probably would kind tell them "No, thank you." and quickly shut the door. Or if I felt like it, I might offer to listen to them if they would listen to me. Usually, once they hear I am Pagan, they back off pretty quickly.

It is wrong only in the fact that Spirituality is strictly personal, and it is not intended to be communal at all. Religion is communal because being an intellectual creation, and being sustained intellectually, it needs constant reinforcement to remain real. Those who seek to sell religion the most are those with the least understanding of the Spirituality within themselves. Another paradox of Life.

I normally just say I'm busy (literally just those 2 words), and close the door. I say the same thing to political canvassers and door to door sale men. It isn't immoral for them to try and convert people, but that does not make it right. It is not copacetic.

It's all about choices my dear friend....if you have a few minutes and are well versed in their beliefs, you may choose to have a nice little debate with them.....

Or, on the flip side of that, you can just tell them that you arent interested and do not have the time.....
