I do not know anything about Allegheney, but the UPMC is a designated comprehensive cancer center well known for their innovation and research into liver and other cancers. My son was treated there with an experimental surgery and chemoperfusion. He had diffuse peritoneal seeding within the abdomen (literally hundreds of tiny malignant nodules and microscopic disease) and the chemoperfusion was able to kill off most of the disease and still give him excellent quality of life (the chemoperfusion only reaches the abdominal cavity and not other affected areas).
Again, I can only attest to UPMC and the excellent treatment that my son received.

UPMC SHADYSIDE.. They have the Hillman Cancer Center on the same campus, They are wonderful.. and the Staff is great.
