graduation class but shows up herself? The reunion was for 1973, 1974, 1975. All years had representatives and there was a big turn out. But 1974 she was in charge of she contacted nobody. Only eight from 1974 showed up and they were invited by the 1973 representative. Why would she volunteer for something when she had no intention of fulfilling the obligation?

If you knew her in school like I did. She always wanted to be the center of attention do you think she did this on purpose? 1974 missed out on a fun reunion.

That's very disappointing considering '74 is smack bang in the middle of the three years and I'm imagine that the classes of '73 and '75 would have enjoyed seeing those from the years directly above and below.
It's my motto that you never volunteer for something unless you're prepared to carry it through. It soesn't sound like she was after kudos because otherwise she'd have contacted the whole year! Was she the only '74 student to put her hand up? Maybe she didn't know how to contact past students.
At least she herself attended! Some people are just hard to figure sometimes.

Hmm... interesting.... some theories:
1) Wanted to look useful, but found that in the cold light of day, she just couldn't be bothered.
2) Was more interested in being the centre of attention for her year than meeting up with old friends.
3) Slipped into a coma between the time of volunteering and actually attending the party.
4) Wanted to attain notoriety by being the focus of this question on Yahoo! Answers.
5) Is a complete waste of skin.

A quarter of the population is like this, it is part of the temprement known as 'sanguine'.
"Sanguines" love to be the centre of attention. They are the personality that loves to talk and socialise.
They also love to volunteer for things. Unfortunetly, a common weakness in their personality is that they often don't complete what they start. So they may volunteer for all these things and not get it done.
She did indeed have every intention of doing her job... but for whatever reason, she ended up not doing it.

Girl, You know that's right. She was sadly dissappointed though, because I was in the class of '73 and I am always the center of attention, anywhere I go. She thought she was fine, 'til I showed up & then she knew she didn't have a chance, so she just sat herself down & let me do my thing. Love You More

There are always those disappointing individuals that do not meet their responsibilities. Many start out with good intentions and then just don't get around to it. They sure mess things up for others, don't they!

She may not have been given the current list of addresses from the last person to do the job.
Or if she did have the list, she probably would have shelled out hundreds of dollars of her own money to contact a lot of people.

that's just some people's m.o. You can't let that bother you because some people have automatic do-wrong in them. They don't have to think about it...doing wrong just come natural.
