Absolutely. As far as the Quran is concerned, it's more than just heaven and hell. It's got lots of scientific facts which were impossible to know 1400 years ago. Like the birth process..there's a verse that describes each step from sperm to berth and gives amount of time and stuff. Whether you want to believe in Islam or not, the Quran is an irrefutable book of divine revelation.
[We] then formed the drop into a clot and formed the clot into a lump and formed the lump into bones and clothed the bones in flesh; and then brought him into being as another creature. Blessed be Allah, the Best of Creators! (Qur'an, 23:14)
... He creates you stage by stage in your mothers' wombs in threefold darkness. That is Allah, your Lord. Sovereignty is His. There is no god but Him. So what has made you deviate? (Qur'an, 39:6)

There is more to following a religion than the hope of a reward after death.
How about knowing the most fantastic way to spend your time before death? Anything else is a bonus.

If their was no reward, than it all would be pointless. If I followed everything it said, and another guy didn't and both of us are gonna end up dead like everybody else - then what's the point of following it? Common sense.
edit: What I mean is praying, fasting and stuff would be pointless. Obviously, I would still behave like a human with moral values.

Gee that's a good question.
I would say yes. For the fact I already am being shown mercy to enjoy the gift of life. Even now We should have confidence that we will have a reward, but It is still up to God. In Bible, everything mentioned in there is beneficial for our daily life weather it be, business practices, medical, family organization, and so on is still piratical even down to our day.
So yeah i would.

My "holy religious book" guides my life. If there is a reward when I die, that's a bonus. I think part of what's wrong with today's society is a lack of belief in "holy religious books"

The fact is that God does promise salvation and with it eternal life in His presence. As a Christian I cannot fathom any other reward more valuable than that. I cannot imagine any other way to believe.
